Was told today by legal person. if you have a weapon, bat, lump of wood, whatever, you use it to defend your house invasion, if you use to defend, hit them, will be charged grievous bodily harm. If they die, its manslaughter charge. So wrong. There is an answer, when cops show, first thing to say is, I thought my life was in danger. A must say at start, negates any charges, in Queensland at least. Have to make sure cop records it. Worth remembering i reckon. Apparently stands up perfectly in a court .
Your lucky, cops won't even turn up to a robbery here, unless you tell them the burglar called you a white tranny honky pedo, then at least 4 cops will turn up. ??? :whatever:

Mate,
If your young and fit enough to do any reasonable harm to an invader the cowards probably won't come to your place!
If they do they'll come in numbers and with weapons.
How many fit young footballers/personal trainers/weightlifters do you know who have suffered a home invasion?
They usually pick on the old and/or vulnerable and will strike first.
If you can defend yourself, go hard because the odds will usually be stacked against you. Unfortunately resisting could also lead to an even worse outcome for the innocent homeowner.
These scum always have form and are known to the police. My record is a couple of speeding tickets in over 50 years. Happy to have my references and record lined up against any home invader.
Having spent some time around the courts I haven't come across any homeowners charged with assaulting a trespasser. However I do know some criminal lawyers who would tear the case apart in a cross examination if a homeowner used reasonable force to resist an assault.
Sadly, as you know, there was a fatal stabbing recently in your own state. The perpetrators were armed.
grog,
Not a criticism of your post but just my rant on the "legal advice".
Everyone should be entitled to defend themselves but unfortunately many of us don't have the physical capacity to do it.
No probs Johno. I just wrote what i was told by legal beagle. I agree about defending yourself. Ill keep away from those sort of posts from now on. 👍
Your right grog.

No idea about the legal side of it but here in France they sell home defence mace type stuff and rubber bullet handguns specifically aimed at the home defence market so I guess its a legal defence. It is a bit like the Wild West of here though, probably why I like it :boogie:
