Looks like a scam, smells like a scam. Seriously snapey contact PayPal via a different method, I.e telephone or a different device and they will help you sort it out .
My Spam / Junk folder is full of this type of shite Snapey, mark it as Junk / Spam then delete it.
I had one similar from GoVia (Etoll)
When I checked I had $63 in credit and no issues.
Had similar ones claiming to be Australia Post and NetFlix.
(I collect my mail and don't have Netflix!)
Anything asking for a payment, login or bank details is a red flag.
It must have been a day for it yesterday. After the Paypal one I got this message about a trailer I'm selling. He was persistent but I'm paranoid these days & don't give out info unless I'm sure of the situation.
I'm having issues with withdrawal from my debit card for now so thts why I'm transferring from PayID through my bank app. I can only PayID you the money you can check if your bank app has PayID so I can make the payment via PayID. All I need to send the money is your email . So you can have your email attached to it if your bank app has PayID its easier that way

I got similar last week about PayID. Selling a car and he said hed pay that way and daughter would pick up car. I never replied.
I always check the origin email, usually something similar to "paypal@johnno123.com" so you know immediately that it's a scam.
Far too many scammers out there now preying on the unsuspecting and uninformed :furious:
Makes me cranky also Froudy, love technology, just that frogwits abuse it, have to be-always on guard is PIA.

I had a text from Govia (supposedly) saying I hadn't paid a toll. I have an account with them plus I haven't been near any tolls for ages, I just deleted it.
GoVia is now called Linkt.
Have a look at Atomic Shrimp's (YouTube) scam baiting videos - informative AND entertaining.
Have to remember to turn my text sound off before bed, scamming bastards woke me up at 4 am with one of those unpaid toll ones last night
I used to get phone calls about my Amazon account which has an outstanding payment due, if I was bored or just wanted to have some fun, I would press option 1 to get through to them and then I would waste their time. I often got calls from an insurance scammer about my recent car crash (which I haven't had) so again I would play along, when they asked for the reg number I would say "don't know" why not "I only stole it an hour before", they would hang up. :whatever:

Yeah I got that one about a car accident. I told em it wasn't an accident and that I'd run the person over deliberately.
Surprisingly they persisted (presumably didn't understand what I was talking about) so I wove an elaborate story about how the police think its just a random but it was a guy I think was sleeping with my wife. Well, actually
thinking of sleeping with my wife. Well actually thinking of sleeping with
someone else's wife. Well, actually his
own wife... :rofl2:
I've been hacked they got into my Netflix & Optus email changed my bloody password 😳😳😳
Rang both spoke to a guy in Bangladesh about Netflix he wanted to email me password reset DOH
OPTUS guy in Mumbai just as useless
I'm joining Maurice Blackburn lawyers class action even if I don't get money I'd like to inconvenience Optus as much as I've been 👎👎👎
Just mongrels Chris. Guess my turn will come.
today phone calls from every where. Overeseas, NZ. Guessing it wasnt one of the Cols. Txts, emails, phone calls from Amazon Prime, never used. Telling me i owe tens of thousands, will deduct $99 each day until paid. A scam, hope so. Just not sure. Tried to block Amazon at bank, theyre too busy to answer. Too old for this shit, wastes my time trying to fix, just not a fair thing. I couldve spent that time fitting brakes to bike, amazing waste of time.
Not me Grog, I'd have given you a heads up through a pm if I was going to call / txt.

You can block those numbers on your phone Grog. Amazon does not call so definitely a scam
Thanks Eric, not really worried, just annoyed me yesterday after a hot annoying work day. All good today.
The most regular pain in the ar$e that I suffer if from an automated message to my land line;
"This is Bank Security, we have received two unusual transactions against your card, please press 1 if this was not authorised by you".
The first question of course is that of the five adults who live in my house, which one to they think they are contacting?
Secondly, don't they want me to know which bank they are?
They are going to have to be much cleverer before they get a call back from me.
Happens once or twice a week, I don't know why they think I will fall for it this week when I haven't for the last six months.
I like the idea of a bit of revenge timewasting though...
Had a new variation this morning - an email saying "warning, contents not secure" ON ITS HEADER! Guess they're hoping the hapless inquisitive will take a gander lol

Entirely pointless, These callers 'spoof' numbers. That is, they are real numbers but the calls are not actually coming from those numbers they just appear to be. In truth you are blocking a 'real' phone number. The chance that phone number belongs to someone you know or need to talk to is very remote, but not zero.
I have got calls from people saying they missed a call from me... and I never rang. This is exactly what was happening.

When I worked for BT we used to change customers telephone numbers in the exchange software to make test calls - to any number we wanted - was in the early naughties :)
Probably a scam but just received a txt message saying congratulations you've won £250 or two tickets to an Elvis Presley tribute night.
It said press 1 for the money or 2 for the show.
