Title: Billet chain tensioner
Post by: Eskevar on Saturday, 01 October 2022, 11:28 PM
Hey all,

Been a while since I last posted, new bikes have come along but the 1400 is still in the garage, I am currently waiting on parts to replace the full suspension set up so that I can turn the old girl into a track day bike, I am looking for billet chain adjusters, preferably ones that can be adjusted from the rear, so once in place they do no get moved, but the centre slides back and forth on the adjuster. I have a set for my S1000R, they work a treat and make accurate and easy adjustment of the chain.

If anyone has come across these, or has them on their bike and are able to share a link as to where to find them, would be much appreciated.

Cheers in advance

Another view of the adjuster, its bolted into the swing arm where the adjuster bolt is removed from.

Gilies?

Something like that anyway, was/is a company that made fancy chain adjusters for 14s. Never seen the need for them myself.

Unless you string line it or use a vernier to measure everything its quite difficult on the GSX as the swingarm flexes as you tighten the axle nut. they're not the most precise things anyway and after many years of adjusting I have a feel for how it will change. The true test is that the chain runs on sprockets straight with little to no noise after lubrication.
