Hi All
I have removed my throttle bodies this evening to give everything a good glean & some lubrication, can anyone tell me if there is a knack to refitting the throttle cables at the throttle body end please?
I haven't started refitting the throttle bodies yet but removing the cables was a bit of a nightmare so just wondering if there is an easy way to refit the cables before I start the assembling tomorrow evening. I used the two pieces of flat steel method to help getting the bodies out although I couldn't get the air box to move back far enough to get the plates in both sides so assembly could get interesting without struggling with the cables
Thanks in advance
Pete
Whenever I have removed carbs or throttle bodies from a bike I always leave the cables in place. It's far easier to just remove the cables from the twist grip end and then remove or refit the carbs/throttle bodies with them already attached :onya:
Evening
Well that's the job done. Not half as bad as I thought it was going to be, a bit of a faff removing the throttle bodies but they went back in pretty easily using the two steel plate method
Fitting the throttle cables on to the throttle body was the most awkward, I found that it was easier to slide the throttle bodies in approx half way then fit the inner throttle cables to the linkage before pushing the bodies in the rest of the way and lining them up before removing the steel plates
The old girl fired up first time after refitting everything, throttle bodies balanced, TPS & STPS checked, the cold start although working before seems to stay on a bit longer now and she seems to be idling much smoother with not so much popping from the exhausts but time will tell I guess - off out for the day on her tomorrow so fingers crossed
Thanks to
@Hooli and
@froudy for their comments

Good on you Pete :hat:
I'd never even consider doing any of that kerfufal myself 🧐
