after a long run bike sits at 1500rpm then very very slowly returns to 1100 , now me not being technically mined at all !! wouldnt know where to start checking TP Sensors etc , it starts and idles as it should its only after a run it idles at 1500 rpm

sorry not been on in a while but i had a wee off road experience with my GSXS 1000 and broke my collar bone , gsxs totalled , now my 14 is playing up

Hi Frizzy, sorry to hear about your off & wrecking your GSXS.  Your collar bone must have healed for you to be out on the 14.   As for the slow return to idle, it sounds like binding throttle to me.  Does it (the throttle) snap back shut when you let it go from cold? & again at hot, (not running of course) 1100 - 1500rpm wouldn't need much of a non return / opening to give that.  Put some lube down the cables from the grip end, bit of spray round the throttle bodies where they move & see if that helps.  The throttle should snap shut quite positively when opened & released.

It doesn't sound like too much to fix it tbh, keep us informed.

Hi Col,
the throttle does snap back quite resoundingly and the cables seem to be moving freely ,i'll try spraying all the moving parts see how that goes

as for my collar bone it was nearly 9 weeks ago , still gets a bit sore but not enough that i can't enjoy the couch

i'll keep you posted on my findings

cheers
