Yeah, I get down there a bit, but not the biggest fan of the place.

Apart from the weather a family member there was saying how he loves Brisbane as there's so many nice places to ride closer to the city.

Daughter is currently trying to buy a 1 bed apartment in the city and looking at $500k as the public transport isn't that great.  Good job the place pays well because it doesn't have much else going for it.

However... that war museum !
I'm not a military fanatic but it's bloody impressive. I've never see anything that good elsewhere in AU or the UK.  Huuuuge and so we'll done.

I remember the war museum as a child & being totally fascinated by it. Many years later I visited as an adult and was still astounded by the dedication of the curators.  :salute: :salute:

The AWM has some VERY rare stuff in their collection.
Including an Me 262 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Me_262) Schwalbe jet and Me 163 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Me_163_Komet) Komet rocket plane.

If you are in or visiting Brisbane make sure to check out the ANZAC Legacy Gallery (https://anzac100.initiatives.qld.gov.au/legacy-projects/qld-museum/index.aspx#:~:text=Queensland%20Museum's%20Anzac%20Legacy%20Gallery,and%20its%20legacy%20in%20Queensland.) at the Queensland Museum

There you'll find "Mephisto (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mephisto_(tank))" the world's ONLY remaining example of a German WW1 tank, the A7V Sturmpanzerwagen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A7V).

Cooler up here in some places than  Canberra this morning.  Time for a second coffee and a few jobs in the house untill the sun comes up and I venture out to site.
