Title: PC111 help, please?

Hey there,

I have a mate who has a PC111 (brand new), that he is willing to give me.
Great, right?
Except...
His PC111 was purchased new for a 2006 Triumph ST Sprint 1050, whilst I own a K2 GSX1400.
Would anybody out there know the following:-
1. Are the PC's generic inside the "box" - with only the cabling being different (and the maps, of course?).
2. If so, where would I buy the necessary plug ends?

The "donor" PC model number is 514-410/411
Apparently, the one I require is a 310-411?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated (or otherwise, if you know anyone with a PC111 to suit mine even better!).

I'd get the right one tbh.

I think the plugs can be swapped, but not sure if the software is generic enough to allow for different fuel tables to suit different rev limits, or TPS outputs etc etc.

Had a big search up on pc. From what i can learn, you need specific box for each bike. Not at all an expert but what i read seems to be how it is. Sell the Trumpy one, a few bucks towards correct one at least. 👍

As you already know the connectors are different for each injection system on each bike and Yes in theory you can snip the old connectors off and wire up new ones.
So essentially the unit itself is the same but comes with a loom specific to the bike you're putting it on and carries a program specific to that bike too. Its a bit of work.

I dont know if you can buy the connectors separately so that would mean getting your hands on an older PC111 to re-use the connectors on it. It would then need to be reset or have the Triumph programme removed with a fresh programme installed for the GSX.

I know you say the PC111 is new but mine packed up 2 years ago and I was told that it wasn't available or supported anymore(other than maps being available for download). A PC5 new in the UK cost me £195 approx programmed, plug & play.

As Grog says, sell the PC111 and look to get the bike specific one would be way easier.

It looks as if my cheap option isn't going to be an option.
I appreciate all the advice, regardless.
Think I'll leave it - by the time I spend the $750 plus the Dyno work, I don't think there's really enough to be gained.

Early bikes like yours run a bit rich anyway so cope well with different cans etc.

I think the PC3 on mine was worth it as it run nicer after the Dyno, more responsive and smoother at low revs/throttle. Over the years it's more than paid for itself in the better MPG too.

A PC3 or 5, a full system like an Akra or Cyclone, blank the PAIR's and get it mapped properly on the dyno makes for a very healthy fun bike.

If I ever get another 14 it will get exactly the same mods.
