Title: Rained
Post by: grog on Thursday, 26 May 2022, 07:30 PM
Had a huge year of rain, over 600mm this month. Sun came out today. Charger on bike, ready to ride. Roads are just terrible, huge potholes. Fingers crossed a few dry days. Average here is 1005, first 5 months up to 2050. So bloody annoying.

I've had 4 trucks stuck on site where I'm building my new place, and 1 next door including Ergon and the Firebrigade!
Had to bring in a huge pump truck as I couldn't get concrete Agi's anywhere near where I'm pouring shed slabs.
I was going to pour a footpath on Monday but couldn't get crusher dust in or a concrete agi, fingers crossed for Saturday now.
I had a fence around my dam but the fence is now 6 foot in the air and the dam walls gone!
My bike is gathering dust in the shed as the lawn where I currently live is a swamp.

To say I'm over it is an understatement !

Feel for ya Tony. Double yearly average in 5 months. Worst ive endured here. Waiting to get a tree removed down back, impossible, ground goes over boots just walking. Potholes everywhere, not safe riding conditions. My house got damaged in storm, water in ceiling, now bloody mould showing up everywhere. Tough year.

Thanks.   I'm high on a hill so I'm very greatfull that the sheds and house are flood proof, unlike more poor buggers who went under yet again.
I have a skip bin that's stacked up into the air with rubbish stacked around it, and a Portaloo that's waaaay overdue for a service but neither truck can get on site yet again this week.

This was on my way home recently.  Not the most rain we've ever had but every tank and dam is full and every field and hillside is saturated, so every drop just runs off now.

180k's further West but hopefully moving again in a few weeks when my new place is finished. Sheds are both done, house is close to being done.   Everything's in sheds, garages, storage units until then, it's driving me mad.
