Title: K5 swing arm
Post by: bigian14 on Sunday, 05 March 2017, 12:51 AM
 Hi everyone,
I am looking at getting a spare swing arm to add extensions so I don't have to remove mine and send it away as there's about a 7 week turn around time to get the extensions machined and fitted/welded, due to the machinist's current work load.
Any way, mine is a K5 model but can't seem to find a secondhand one having just missed out on one on eBay due to being in middle of nowhere with no phone signal near the auction end.  I know for one off a K2 but Suzuki list a different part number to the K3,K4 and K5,  the only difference that I can see in the Suzuki parts manual is the steel plate screwed to the inside of the axle slot is on the other side.  Does anyone know if anything else is different that would stop a K2 arm fitting a K5 frame?
Or better still does anyone have a K3,K4,K5 swing arm for sale?

Cheers

Ian

all the swingarms are the same only difference i can see is where the spacer/plate goes on the inside of the arm where the axle mounts.
it changes sides lh/rh between models but is the same part.

p.s. they might have changed a few mounting brackets (stand and minor stuff) but the frames are also the same.

Will that affect the wheel alignment?  I'm guessing not as I think the spacers are the same part number also,  Just want to be sure before I spend my £30.

it shouldnt as the plate is 1-2mm thick and the actual wheel spacers are common across the different models.

 :thankyou: Seth.
I pretty much thought that was the case, sometimes it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion.

i dont know what the plate does anyway it just seams to get in the way when your replacing the wheel.
but 1 mm wont affect anything. :onya:

Just had a look at mine and the plate is actually recessed into the arm so can't see any problem, think I'll take a punt on it  :wheelie:
