Hi, I'm new on this forum due to that I'm not a gsx owner yet. I am going to test drive this bike next week. (Attached pic) Does anybody know if the colors/pattern on this bike is original. I want to purchase a bike that has the original paint, and I have not managed to find the exact same pattern on any bike online. (where the "S" is located on the tank, the shape of the "Z" pattern on the tank, and also the background color on the sticker on the rear,) Something is off.. Have this bike been repainted? According to the info I have, this is a 2003 k3. It's a beautiful bike, and I really hope to purchase one shortly 😀 Any info would be helpful. Regards, Lasse, Norway
Hi LasseLinaae the attached link will take you to a site where you can see the colour combinations of the various years. We can't see the detail enough on your prospective bike, but you may able to compare more easily.
It looks a well cared for machine in any case.

Hi
@LasseLinaae - that machine is not a K3, its actually an early K4 in the original colour scheme, the red/black scheme was not released until the K4 model, this one was probably registered late 2003 - hence why the owner may have categorised it as a K3 (as in general the number related to the model year K3 - 2003, K4 - 2004 etc, however I think the "year" models were released late the previous year - hence why I say I believe this to be an early K4)
For further reference, please see (download) the model history https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=59
The only immediate "non-standard" items I can spot in the picture are the wavy discs and the exhausts - also the rear mudguard has been cut down (and it has a rack!), that aside it all looks like a pretty original K4 model to me.
Pictures of all models in all colours up to K4 are included in the link I have added above
Hope that helps
G'day mate & welcome to the nuthouse
As the others have indicated it looks very straight & maybe an owner of one of this model can comment 👍
Nice looking bike but the tail piece does not look standard to me, just does not look right
If its in good nick mechanically buy it anyway:)
Welcome to the forum LasseLinaae, :onya:

Didn't the K4 have the full SUZUKI on the tank rather than just the "S" as on the K5?
