Hi! Can anyone tell me how to loosen the locknut on the original mirror? Is it som kind of counter- locking?
I cant get a socket down to the small nut, is it 8 mm? :whatever:
Thanks!
Be very careful as the insides of the mirror mounts are very soft and snap easy .
Lots of other Suzuki and Yamaha use the same bit I replaced mine with Yamaha sr125 ones cost £5 from a breakers for the pair( only used the mount bit )

Stay away from that 10mm hex nut unless you understand it's function. To start with you'll have to machine down the OD if a socket to fit in the hole but then you'll find the thread has been peened over to stop the nut coming out. That nut is there to adjust the spring tension of the mirror on a tapered spigot. All adjustments are made by loosening the 17mm nut at the base then undo the mirror stem.
Wise words indeed
Thanks for answering. OK, now I understand how it works. Always simple when you know.
