well its official, today iam getting old lol. :embarrassed:
bit of a shocker today as details of my pension choices came in the post informing me i can start drawing my works pension on my 50th birthday in may this year.
pensions etc allways seemed far far ahead in time and its a bit of a wakeup call to be told you can start drawing your pension.
well after a few minutes for it to sink in, the amount i can recieve in a lump sum and weekly draw soon put a smile on my face as i realised i can spend the cash either on another bike or a galvanised chassis for my old defender :boogie: :boogie: :boogie: :boogie: :boogie: :boogie: :boogie: :boogie: :boogie:
yes the pension word is something we all dread in a way but as you say ,,, it has its benefit extra money always come in handy and .... now the jobs you wont to get done you can ,, but it comes to us all in the end age ... its how old you feel is the the important thing in the end

Ahhhh, penny drops. It's cos us kiwi's work harder all our lives & we're farked by 65, you Aussies just take it easy n have a few barbies, so by 65, you're only ¾ worn out! :whistling:
73! Hell, I can't believe it. You guys will need an extra lane on the Bruces just for Zimmer Frames.
73, you poor bastards.
You might like to point out Col that some here seem to start drawing their pension at the age of about 16......which they continue to draw until the grave.
Remember the pension only starts at 65 if you work !!

It's nice isn't it, meanwhile Good old Joe Hockey the ex-federal treasurer who complained about women "double dipping" in paid maternity leave, claims a retirement pension whilst on a Govt Salary as the Ambassador to the USA. He doesn't look 73!
MP's here get access to a full pension after serving 1 term (4 years) and they are the only ones who get a decent pay rise as well, bastards :furious:
I just turned 52 this week and plan on living forever . . . . .so far so good
73 Vlad? reading the wrong info. its 67 for me and im sure im correct. maybe blurred eyes fron driving a landrover, you never know.
Yeah i was wrong. Mind you the way they are going it will prob be 80 by the time im.67...
Bloody stupid expecting people to work that long. As someone mentioned the bloody pollies who make the rules don't....
Turning 66 this month and working harder than ever. Drawing 2 pensions and still need to apply for my British Pension as small as it might be but still good enough to buy a beer ......once a month! :jack:
