Title: This really happened today
Post by: VladTepes on Wednesday, 09 February 2022, 01:20 PM
So, having a fire evac training session today which we have to do twice a year. Includes Q&A etc.

So one of the questions was "if you come across a fire and the alarm isn't sounding, what would you do?".
Obviously even an idiot would say you should hit the break glass / alarm button.
or so I thought. (As always they keep developing a more effective idiot)
Instead one guy says "Inform management".
:frustrated: Now there's a person with a lack of critical thinking skills.

The person providing the training gave us a demo of the alarm sounds.
Obviously it would be professional and he'd have recordings right?
Nope - mimicked the sounds with his voice....  :

You can't make this stuff up.

No Batty someone might be offended with the use of that coarse language.
Perhaps a more socially acceptable "please leave by the the nearest fire exit boys and girls" hang on I think I've forgotten someone.......oops the gender neutral are I still inside

On site when a fire broke out elsewhere in the building.
Person informing us of fire & the need to leave had a very bad stammer.
We could smell the smoke by the time he'd got his sentence out...

Cykik was he also a successful Bible salesman.
He'd knock on doors and ask if they would like to buy a bible. Just that question took him five minutes to get out, they'd say No then he would ask if he could read it to them.

About 25 years ago when our friend PC was just starting out we were given an input about what changes to expect. Obviously the chap giving the talk must have been on a course himself in order to present this guff.

I happened to notice two pieces of A4 paper stuck to the wall, each having a picture of the UK with shaded areas and a key explaining what they meant. As I couldn't read it properly from where I was sitting I asked what it represented.

The explanation was that they showed areas of the country which contained higher numbers of immigrants, black and/or Asian residents mainly in built up, conurbation areas. He then paused for a second and said that his in-laws lived in the North East of England and that "it was alright for them" as "not many of them (immigrants) live up there". I nearly fell off my chair.
