Title: Noisy EFI pump
Post by: Eric GSX1400K3 on Monday, 31 January 2022, 09:35 PM
Hi everyone, thought I'd ask the collective brains trust here.

I replaced the original efi pump in my K3 with a Quantum EFI pump.  Bike runs fine, but I've noticed that the fuel pump is decidedly louder than the original, running with a high pitched whine.  Primes fine when I turn the ignition, bike starts first press of the button and runs fine, idles well and revs clean all the way to redline.

Any ideas?

My experience is pumps get noisy when the teabag is dirty. It happens long before running issues.

I run 40€ ebay pump for the last 3 years, it is louder than oem pump from the first day but bike runs fine.

e.g. Walbro and Holley pumps are much louder than Bosch or Mitsubishi pumps. I don't know why, but they are  :whatever:

Agree T24. AC Delco maybe loudest. No idea why, Holley-chinese, Mits either Korea or Japan, Walbro USA. AC chinese. OEM, japan. Tridon were Canada, not sure now. Company i worked for in Sydney, sold Tridon as OEM, Nissan, Toyota, Volvo, Ford, even Jaguar. Were imported total cost $14, re packed, prices ranged grom $100 to just on a thou. Same pump. Different boxes only. Dont ever think OEM is real.
