Title: Hi from Sydney, Australia
Post by: motomate on Sunday, 23 January 2022, 12:25 PM
Hi everyone. Thanks for having me here. I'm a new owner of a black 2007  Suzuki GSX1400. I bought this bike from the Gold Coast and rode it back to Sydney in one day (850km for those not in the know). I bought him as my current bike, a black 2014 Honda Valkyrie, needs some major work on his gearbox and I'll be without him for quite a while it seems. Anyway, the GSX, with 67000km on the clock is in beautiful condition, but he does unfortunately have a gremlin in him that I'll have to sort out. On four occasions on acceleration, without warning and quite randomly, there'll be a sudden loss of revs and power for a few seconds that once lead to a stalled engine. After a couple of seconds of this, he then fires back up again. It's a bit startling and possibly very dangerous if overtaking. Am thinking air or fuel filter, a crappy sensor, plugs, injectors, battery etc.... I'll post about this in more detail elsewhere.

Gidday Motomate, welcome to the forum, great to see another Black in the fold!   I read your post about the cutting out, I doubt it's anything to do with sensors, there's bugger all of them.  I'd go with Snapeys suggestion on the connectors / wiring & also the fuel filter.
Easy pull out of the tank & back flush or bypass it entirely & go for an inline filter as suggested here https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=590.15

Also check the earths, they've been known to cause problems at times.

To all things 1402
As already said go through a check list see what you find .
It will be something simple but untill it's found it'll be a problem.
I'd go with a good service ,check fuel filters and as many loom plugs as you can (don't forget the ones in the headlight)
Good luck a nice looking bike you have there .

Welcome mate, nice (slow) bike (the blue and white ones are faster).  Read your issue on another thread. As others have said most likely lp fuel filter ('teabag') blocked,or hp pump issues, although those low kms, unlikely to me.

They are, nothing else could take that much time, money & attention to get a good ride out of them.

The fastest 14 to come out of Sydney is a black one, and it has no mod's.  :stir:
