I've set up a meeting for Scottish gsx1400 owner on a Facebook group .
https://facebook.com/events/s/scottish-meet-up-3rd-april-202/1337453116771753/
Not sure if everyone can open the link but the details are.
Sunday 3rd April at
the broch cafe at loch lubnaig/strathyre on the A84 @1pm.
All welcome .
See how it goes and who turns up .
As ever lots wanting something but nobody could make a decision so i just set something up and folk can go or not it's up to them .
Hi Seth count me in weather permitting and if BMW,s allowed 😀👍
When I saw the title I :whatever: thought Scottish meat was going up in April.
I couldn't open it, shared in a group, may have to make it public for others to see.
@Irish in Oz I think because I set it up in the group you need to be a member if that group .
I'm not good at Facebook only got it as I needed to stay in contact with some people.
If you could share the time and place that would be enough.
I just got red up where every one talks about doing these kind of things then they all argue about where or when it should be so I just set something up and see what happens think it looks like about 20 folk already say that thier going so who knows it looks like a good day out already
Is anyone in the Brisbane and surrounding areas interested in a ride on this date also ?
Perhaps similar to The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, each area could arrange a ride on the same date wherever GSX1400 owners reside. :whatever:
@seth Sorry cant help as I would have to join the group and aso probably have to be Admin. Thin you will be OK if 20 are interested. Count me out as they want 175 quid Larne to Cairnryan return last time just over 2 years ago was about 32 quid day trip.
Even if it's just a few folk it's all good .
I remember there used to be great deals on the ferries but that all seams to have stopped now .
Date And place for the meeting are here now so its open to any gsx1400 owner and thier bikes.
Will see what happens as either way it's a nice day out for us .
I should be good for this Seth. Be great to meet up again. Scot
I got an invite via faceache but it's a bit far and i don't think they've built a bridge/tunnel yet...

Just a day out for like minded folk .
Be great to see you again in taking the loud bike
I will make sure I have my ear plugs in. lol :rofl2:
I'm off the two weeks before this so I might have a toddle up on something two wheeled.
Depends on work things currently.

I could be interested, the GSX has not made it to Scotland yet but it would probably mean a couple of nights in a hotel for me.
I'll pencil it in and make a decision a little closer to the time.
So a wee update
I phoned the broch cafe at loch lubnaig this week as they are now open after a winter break .
They are very happy for us to meet up there and look forward to a great day .
So Its in for anyone who want to meet up .
Cheers
Quick warning for everyone...
@Hooli It's ok I'm pretty sure everything will be midge safe untill may
All still set for Sunday
I'm not sure how many or who will appear but I'll be there .
The cafe have been phoned and are looking forward to us all being there so that's that see you there if you go and stay safe on the way .
Same here
@seth, unfortunately there has been zero response for a ride from South East Queensland GSX1400 owners.
Maybe some of them may be interested in attending the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride https://www.gentlemansride.com/home?showlogin=true to raise money for a good cause. Make sure you get in to the spirit of it and wear your best plus fours and a cardigan etc. etc.
I set up the meet up here as loads of folks were wanting some kind of get together and talked about it over and over but nobody actually bothered to arrange it .
I set this up first thing that happens were folk saying its not near me sometimes you can't win buddy .
If 1 other bike shows up (And I know
@Hooli is coming for a run as it's local for him only 300ish miles) I'll be happy
Would love to attend Seth but I haven't yet fitted the paddle wheels to the 1402.
By the way, good on you for arranging, well done mate.
I'm currently just a maybe I'm sorry to say. Laid in bed with a chest infection and coughing lumps of lung up. I'll see if I can shake it off in time.
You take care buddy if I don't see you this time we will catch up over the year at some point as I know you can't keep away from up here ..
Get well soon buddy
:shtf: :puke:
Ta buddy
I was keeping an eye on this, it made it to a slot in my diary and I got as far as exploring a couple of Premier Inns for accommodation on Saturday and Sunday.
Unfortunately my daughter (who still lives with us) has bought Covid home from work this week and although I seem to be dodging it so far it may only be a matter of time before I touch the wrong door handle.
Pity it was not last weekend, no sign of a virus and tempratures in double figures ...
I hope a few make it and respect to you for trying to sort something out - maybe I'll get up there later in the year.
I'm just getting over covid so totally understand.
Give me a shout when you do finally get up north
Since i enjoyed the last Scottish meet up i attended , i looked up the Ferry prices .
I think boat diesel has gone up in price too :whistling:
Ferry + room is €460 :jack:
Not gonna happen,
Sorry
@Blubber We'll be over in a few weeks so hope to catch up with you then .
The ferries are crazy prices thesedays that's for sure .
Well I'm feeling more lively, so 14 is prepped. I'm mostly packed & got a hotel booked as meeting a mate in Edinburgh on Saturday evening before the ride over to the cafe on Sunday.
Took me ages to find the tank bag to put my twat-nav in, but see you all there.
@Hooli See you there .
For anyone who's thinking heading over I'm meeting another 14 owner at broxden services (perth) at 11am and heading over the the meet up .
If anyone else is planning it and fancy's meeting see you there
I'll see you at the cafe as that looks a bit out of my way from Edinburgh.
Well five of us made it, four even remembered to be riding GSX14s, shame on Big Geordi!
Iit was good to catch up with folk and one new guy found it strange I'd plan a three day trip just to have lunch in a cafe with people off the org, but what else would I do all weekend?
I'd show you a pic, but my phone refuses to produce anything small enough for the forum to accept.
A great day out and a good start as I'll do more of these over the year .
I also can't upload any pictures just yet but will see what I can do to fix that .
Great to see everyone
Well done you blokes👍👍

5 More than anywhere else, congratulations guys
25 said they were coming along but it's a bit early in the year for some I think .
It was good to catch up with those who did come along I'll do another go in the summer
:boogie2:well done Seth, looking fwd to some pictures
Right here ya go chaps...
Lunch on the way up the day before was here, yes that's snow on the floor by the wall.
Gleneagles estate on the way to the meet yesterday.
The meet.
A few of the scenic route I took home today over Weardale etc into the Pennines & North Yorks. Considering the A1 is the main road between Doncaster & Edinburgh, I didn't use it except for the last 30mile home as it was rush hour & couldn't be bothered with the towns en-route.
So who were the attendees in the end?
Attendees were
Me (seth)
@Big Geordi @Desert Fox @Hooli And a guy from near me
Called Peter surface from fife (he only just heard of the org hopefully he'll be here soon)

At least i turned up and i was representing the BMW side of the 14 Owners ;)
270 mile round trip for me but it was good to catch up :onya:
It worked out about a 700-750mile round trip for me. Which means I managed 3k in a month between my bikes. I think I'll have a few days off now.
Great pics
@Hooli you sure look like you're out in the middle of nowhere in some of them. Can I assume "Big Geordie" is the bloke who makes a GS look like a minibike
