Possibly broken earth cable from battery to rear bolt on crank case breather, they are prone to fracturing or maybe check the battery box for water ingress which may have got into the ECU plugs - if it is the ignition switch a good flush out with electrical contact cleaner can help

Yeah I'd go with the earth or loose battery lead then. If it was the ignition it wouldn't reset the clock as that's not a switched live.

Agree with loss of battery. Connection bad somewhere.

Also check the kill switch at the clutch and at the sidesteps, they glitch from time to time.

Eric, just battery lost. The clue is clock going back to 1 o clock. Default setting for every vehicle, radio fitted will go back to 87.5 FM. Thats why a CAN bus reset, just connect positive lead to negative, is a must for most cars after low/ flat battery. Computer freaks out at low volts, has to be forced back to its first learning step. After can bus, re hook good power supply, at least 12.6, turn on ignition, let everything re learn, up to 10 minutes some, Ford Raider example. Then can start. After that, windows, sunroofs need to re learn, hold switches fully up/open up to 30secs, fully down/ closed same. Rovers, Audis etc all need this.

Exactly, my Land rover is like that, they need a reset once in a while.

Check the battery -Ve.
There's the main thick wire coming off it and then a thinner black/white which is your loom earth. Trace it to the connector near the battery. Pull connector apart, clean it and reconnect it. Common for these connectors to fail and the bike will die completely as yours is.

Good luck :onya:

I agree check all the connections and earth's.
When the main earth lead went on my k6 the bike tried to return the current when starting it via the gear postion wires frying them so I had to rewire everything down in the clutch slave cylinder area of the bike .
Good luck

@grog Exactly why I love my 1995 basic direct injection diesel land rover.  No complicated electronic bullshit.

but back on topic def sounds like a battery/ground issue.
