Title: 50 years
Post by: grog on Thursday, 16 September 2021, 07:33 PM
Today i got to 66 yrs. Exactly 50 yrs since i could legally road ride. My first outing on Ariel Red Hunter 1952. Nearly ran out of petrol, pulled into servo first time ever, riding out, remembered to change fuel tap from reserve, reached under to do, grabbed plug wire, scared shit out of me, dropped it on driveway. Have improved since then.

I was 66 in March-where have the years gone?? - first ride on a motorbike was an aerial Leader sent more time trying to start it than riding  :)

Happy Birthday Grog  :boogie: remember, growing older is better than the alternative  :whatever:. Growing up is optional  :rofl2:

I turned 61 at the end of August. My Mum and Dad couldn't afford a car when I was born, so I came home from hospital in a sidecar attached to Dad's BSA. So riding has been in my blood a long time first ride I remember was at 10yo on a zip start mini bike.  :coffeescreen:

Thanks All. My Mate who was on back of Honda in earlier pic, very good cartoonist. 1974 on his Ducati GT750 in WA. Me on back, he yelled duck, no it wasnt a duck, seagull, he ducked, i didnt. Hit me full on in the face, no full face hats for us those days. Lots of feathers, nearly broken nose, now a great memory.
