Title: New Triumph
Post by: grog on Wednesday, 15 September 2021, 07:09 PM
Best looking new bike for ages. Far too sporty for me but looks quality also. Love the red one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgApseuWmNI

Jaysus, speaking as a multiple Trumpet owner that fairing is disgusting!

Agree Hooli, nice bike engine wise but that fairing has to go.

OK - So i`ve had a "First Look". I`ll not bother having a second one......the headlamp is a bigger problem than the fairing, it just doesn`t look right. They`re trying to be too clever with a retro look on a bike which has no other retro qualities whatsoever, apart from the very dubious name of course. The designer obviously got bored by the time he got to designing a `back end`, so stuck on a bit of lightweight scaffolding instead in the hope it will suffice, and clearly the concept of carrying a pillion was not at the forefront of his tiny mind. £18+k WTF!!  :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Triumph got a great deal on some surplus Morris Oxford headlights......thinking of you to keep prices down  :onya:

Rocket 3 R caught my eye 2500cc, but......$38000 nzd and it looks like half the bike is missing.

Yeah I've never understood why so many bikes are missing the back 25% of the bodywork, it looks sodding awful. Even worse than a tail tidy on a bike that's sold complete like a 14 was.

yeah but no but... no.
The spirit is right but the execution is a fail.

We're just old crusty bastards, these new bikes aren't made for us, they're made for the young 'un's to drool after & they probably succeed in that. They're not going to make a new bike 'for us'  as there's already plenty of old retro bikes around to satisfy our crusty old desires, we can tinker with them as much as we want.  Betcha we couldn't tinker with the new ones the same, no, need a 10 year old & a laptop to sort them!

I agree with Hooli, where's the back end?  But I suppose it's a bit like "Where's the roof" on a convertible.  It's not wrong, just different & the way things are going.  Bikes for us are still made though - called Royal Enfield!!   :whistling: :rofl2:

Won't be long now Grog and your next scoota won't be made by Royal Enfield more likely by that climate friendy company called 'Mobility'  :stir:
