Sad to hear Charlie Watts passed away. Sure packed a lot into his 80 years. Great drummer.
RIP
That's a shame :(
Mind you. a good innings for someone who has likely done what he has done to his system over the years.
I reckon Keith will end up the last man standing.
Nah Charlie was never one of the limelight "typical rock star" like some of the others, always shying away from what you suggest Mike. His main love strangely was Jazz.
RIP Charlie you were the making of The Rolling Stones, a drummer who will be sorely missed.
Been some great stories about him here Dave. Fella here said he played bowls with him, didn't know who he was until someone told him. Seen a photo of him playing sax with his band. Always a snappy dresser.
RIP, always a Stones fan. He was big on art also. One of my life regrets, never seen them live. Did see Jagger with an all stars band, amazing concert.
He succumbed and became an alcoholic/heroin user in the 80's. He was fronted by Keith who said "you've got a problem" and Charlie said F..K I must have a problem and got clean.
He also collected cars but couldnt drive one.
Yup having heard this yesterday I got completely Stoned! - High Tide and Green Grass!!
Such a gentle and unassuming man!
I think Keith is already embalmed
What did Keith say when asked by a reporter "how do you feel today"....... He said "well I woke up"
It went something like that!
