Post by: cawe on Sunday, 18 July 2021, 12:37 AM
Hi all I'm thinking of powder coating my foot peg mounting plates but I'm confused on how to and or replace the vibration bushes that the mounting bolts go through are you able to reuse them after
removal? are they Pressed in.
basically how do I remove them?
Cheers in advance.

They are pressed in
You can take them out using a socket than the bush thats almost the same size and a bolt with a couple of washers with a larger socket than the Bush the other side .
take your time

On my project : i just left the bushes in and mentioned it to the Powder coat guys.

They baked it at a lower temp and a bit longer for the rubber to survive.

Maybe that is an option at your place ?

Had a thought!!!!!!!!! when pressing out the bushes are the supposed to come out from a certain side ie: are the holes or bushes tapered or straight?

No need. Both the holes and the bushes are cylindrical. It is a press fit
