Title: Metzeler roadtec 01 se
Post by: seth on Saturday, 26 June 2021, 05:06 PM
As you all know I have ran the various guises of Pirelli Angel tyres for many years .
ST then GT then GT2's all have been great with the last few sets being GT2's great feel good grip especially in the wet and good mileage over 8000 a pair .
So my point
I changed to the Metzelers this time as got a good deal and they are made in the same factory as Pirellis .
Fitted them on Wednesday as I had to go north on Thursday after work .
As I left Perth heading for buckie (north east Scotland) it started to rain (very heavy for about 80 miles) The first 100 miles felt very strange (the Pirelli's felt good from fitting)
But once north of inverurie about 120 miles from home they were feeling just fine .
On Friday (much drier day) I did what I needed to do up north then came back over the cairngorms few damp patches but mostly dry .
The tyres feel just fine I did push them a couple if times and very sure footed.
So as I thought that's 2 different brands so far and they both feel great after a short running in period .
I wait to see how they wear and how they last but initial feeling are these are also good tyres .

I have the Roadtec 01's on my BMW and find they grip as well as Michelin PR5's but have a slightly better wear rate. Once mine wear thru, I'll be fitting another set for sure.

I have the 01 Se as well - good tyre I reckon.
