I have a rear shock leaking on my K5. (70.000 km on the clock)
Sent them both for rebuild.
After 2 weeks guy told me that he can't find seals cause the GSX 1400 shocks are made in CHINA!
Is that true.??
Its possible they are made there but could be made anywhere .
One of our Scandinavian members has full stripped and rebuilt a pair of shock and got replacement seals no problem.
If I can find the thread I'll add here but it might have been on an old version of the org.
Saying they can't get seals sounds a bit of a copout to me and they don't want to do the job as other have got them in the past .
I used to work for a hydraulic repair business & often took in hydraulic cylinders to repair, the business detailed below make seals to pattern
Send them your old seals on Monday and you will have a new identical set by the end of the week plus old seals come back also if requested and they were cheap but good quality, a set of seals from CAT £150+ FPE Seals £30 inc postage - you never know could be worth a try if you get no joy elsewhere

A quick search found this article with KYB fitments to other bikes that are the same as the 1400 and an All Balls seal head.

Out of stock I see, contact them and see if they are restocking.
The original shocks are SHOWA or KAYABA?
Kayaba aka KYB.
I had my shocks rebuilt locally a few years ago and that guy obviously had no issues finding seals, so they must be available.
He's in Greece Vlad :hat:
He doesn't look at details like that, after all he just bought an invisible sculpture in the name of art. :rofl2:

yeah mate I know but my point is that they ARE available so can be sourced somewhere. I'm not implying the are available in Hellas.
Mine were re built, didnt hear anything about hard to find seals.
Unfortunately I'm still waiting ..

Finally i got mt shocks!
I went a big ride and so far so good.
No leaks, shocks work very well.

The guy gave me 1 year warranty.
