Hello all,
I'm helping out a pal who threw his 1400 K5 down the road a few weeks ago. The bike suffered superficial damage but there's one area which is proving to be a pain and I'm hoping someone here can give me a pointer please.... The housing for the clocks/warning lights was damaged but the instruments were all working. I've fitted the clocks in to a new housing and now they're playing up as follows:
Warning lights all work as normal
Tacho is intermittant
Speedo not working and needle is lower than zero MPH
Needle sweeps when ignition on is intermittent and speedo always returns to less than zero
I've checked fuses, chased wiring continuity, checked connector pins, checked for obvious PCB damage, checked battery voltage, reset clocks via reset switch/ign but all to no avail.
Is this something anyone else has experienced? Any ideas much appreciated chaps.....
Sorry to hear you friend had an off.
