Last week got my flu vaccine. Now sitting here, crook as a dog, 4th day, Still no better. Ive got the Flu. Not sure its supposed to work like that. Mate said, lucky you didnt get Covid vaccine.
Sorry to hear that Grog.
I had the flu shot two weeks ago and no side effects.
I have been having it annually and have never been more healthy.
I'm 67 and will get the Astra Venice shot tomorrow.
Hope ya shake it soon Grog, 4 days n no better? Doesn't sound like fun at all!
I could of got a Flu shot today at work, decided not to. I didn't get 1 last year either & never got sick, so will see how it goes this year. I can get a free one from my doc anyway as I'm what they call immunocompromised. (officially that is, I'm not sick)
I had a flu jab this year first time ever, felt a bit rough for a couple of weeks after, not the actual flu just tired and aching (a bit more than usual) don't think I will bother again & only agreed to have it this year in the hope that it may have helped against Covid. Had my fist Covid jab at the beging of April, was OK until almost 24 hours later then felt like crap for 24 hours - should be getting called in the next week or two for my second shot
What has it come to grown men Comparing vaccines. :)
I had the flu jab = no side effects.
I've had both Covid (Phizer) jabs (very little side effects other than a sore arm)
Then I had the pneumonia jab. Jeez - knocked me for six for a day or two.
But I suppose compared to what might happen if you catch any of the above - a sore arms not too bad?
Keep safe every one.

Hmmm, I was just thinking about putting up some baking tips too :confused1: . . . . never mind, ya can make your own pikelets & cake! :whistling: :happy1:
For long trips is it best to wear an underwire or a sportsbra. Thought about one of those new fangled 1/4 cup deals but l wouldnt like the tea bags popping out if thing got a bit rough.
Pikelets aye.......should be in the cafe section Col.
We had them through today doing the Flu Shots for staff that wanted one. I would rather they did it on Friday, I'm expecting 2-3 sickies tomorrow.
The fluvax used in Australia (and almost everywhere) is 'inactivated'. That is, does not contain the live flu virus — so you can't catch the flu from the vaccine.
Around 1 out of 6 people who get the vaccine experience side effects, similar to the early signs of the flu. eg fever, tiredness and muscle aches. These side effects can start within a few hours of vaccination and sometimes last for 1 to 2 days. They usually go away on their own, once your body has developed an immune response to the vaccine, which will protect you from the flu virus.
The side effects indicate the vaccine is triggering an immune response, as designed.
Of course you may have contracted the flu around the same time as getting the shot, as it takes a little while for the vaccine to work its not effective immediately.
It also doesn't necessarily cover ALL strains of the flu (but will cover those most likely to be exposed to).

If i wasnt so sick, getting better, id laugh at your banter. You are funny. Im a sick forum member and all you do is make fun about it. Its serious stuff, and my underwire cutting into me when i sneeze makes it worse.
@grog some unexpected advice off a mate's missus at a party this weekend might help you out, wear a sports bra under the proper bra as it stops the wires digging in. I'm not sure why she told me but there ya go :whatever:
I feel for you grog, I think it's disgusting the others taking the piss when you are so ill.

I have to have flu shots every year - no problem
Have had both Covid jabs - bit of a sore arm for a few hours - but no problem
I think now I have had all jabs going as in my working days, I had to be vaccinated for all eventualities, so have had Hepatitus A&B, Yellow Fever, Polio, Tetanus and a whole load of others, none left to have. Including the booster shots afterwards. All no worries
Think I'm ready to face most virus's :onya:
I'm hearing a few rumours that the Indian variant has already skipped past the vaccination currently in manufacture. :confused1: :confused1:
Not what they are saying here .
Although the Indian variant is much more catchable the vaccine is very close to being just as effective as in other variants .
Bloody well hope so, I go for my second jab today.
All starting again here mjgt. One state in lockdown. Indian bad version, Australias fault, kept letting planes n boats in. So bloody stupid.
Yep, long after the Indian strain was known about they decided to quarantine people on arrival but the government gave them over a weeks notice so most of the buggers came in with no quarantine, you cant even make this stuff up. :furious:
Yeah Mate, they blame everyone that hasnt been vaccinated. Very difficult to get vaxed here. Surely if a flood is coming, you build a wall. Dont blame those who dont have a boat after its flooded. :smoke:
