I own just one totally awesome and outstandingly beautiful Suzuki GSX1400 registered in 2001. Further to that, I should also mention it is furnished in the widely accepted best colour scheme of blue and white. I shall also add being blue and white ensures my bike is therefore one of the fastest and best handling of all standard 1400's. 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Maybe the rest don't know what year they have . . .   or don't care.  :whistling:

2004 K4 do seem rarer to me, I just don't see many.

Seeing as K5 was when the main changes happened I wonder if lots of people held off buying a bike to get the new one? Then found out they'd been fooled as their bike had an exhaust pipe missing?

Well Hooli mine was registered on 08/09/2001 and last the last numbers of the VIN are 395. From many years of manufacturing experience I wouldn't one any earlier. They would of been treated as prototypes up to number 394 with most being sold off to the convicts as you accurately state. After building number 394 a full engineering and manufacturing assessment would of been completed. The very next bike (number 395) would obviously of been built to the most exacting and rigorous standards above all that proceeded it and all that followed it. 🤣😂🤣

Well that explains how my low mileage, mollycoddled pampered example has got so rough. They hadn't perfected the idea of painting stuff or putting grease where it was needed.

Exactly Mate. A mere 150k from a pre 394 bike and it's getting a little a little rough 🙄 Whereas my number 395 is still gliding along like new with in excess of 1,000,000 miles on it 🤗 Oops one of those commas should of been a decimal place 10,000.000 😍 Respect mate can't really believe how you and others rack up such mileages👊

I just use mine every day instead of the car, takes no effort at all really. It's only 10k a year average since I got it, we'll ignore the 40-50k on other bikes at the same time.

Coincidentally, on that same  production line, following  the rigorous  assessment and obvious improvements made to the entire line, suzuki was low on capital, and hence the following units were painted with one coat of shoe black and clocks made of rice paper, until enough units were sold to reestablish manufacture of the famous blue and white ones. Not sure, but this may also have coindided with a temporary  rubber seal shortage at the same factory.... :stir:

It got worse after that Eric, they sacked the bloke who fitted the LH exhaust & forgot to replace him.

My 2001 was 945 the last 3 digits, and was regd. 11. June 2001. As I recall it was the first regd. in Europe. Maybe I am wrong, but I was very active on the old forum, and cant recall any earlier...

Black paint is so slow that it took years to reach the production line.

The true story is actually that on the eighth day the allmighty one sat down with a rum and coke and looked what he had made. When he saw how he had fucked up making the woman he decided to make a motorcycle. It was a perfect one and a fast one....an all  blue GSX 1400. He went on making more and after a few more rum- cokes he got sloppy and started to make some with small faults. Instead of fixing them he gave them other colours, thats why there are blue and whites and so on.Some had so many faults that He named them Honda  and Yamaha, the ones that were a complete mess he called Harleys.

Almost correct on your scriptures there BbigMmac however the Allmighty definitely made the blue and white ones first and foremost above all others. I have it on very good authority that Adam used to race around the garden of Eden on a blue and white 14 with Eve hanging on the back.
For all you doubters and non believers suck it up, get over yourselves and convert to the religion of the Suzuki GSX1400 K2 Blue and White. The  Adonis and without doubt the most gorgeous of the immense, torque monster, brutally heavy weight Suzuki GSX1400 range😍

Having owned a B/W K2 for nearly 14 years I can confirm they aren't bad as a bike, not a patch on a proper old Triumph for class & presence though.  :stir:
