Title: Speedo/rev counter housing
Post by: DP1400 on Thursday, 29 April 2021, 05:57 AM
Anyone have any idea how to tighten the housing which holds the clocks etc?

I`m pretty sure the entire housing is `rubber mounted`, however, i`ve recently noticed mine has a small amount of play, (approx 1mm), which is now noticeable when i`m riding on a rough stretch of road, causing the clocks to `judder`.

I had a very brief look beneath the unit, fully expecting to find a couple of domed nuts (or similar) to tighten, but found nothing of the sort!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated  :onya:

Take the chrome covers off the bottom (single screw in the centre)
And you'll see the mounting plate with rubber mounting .
Have a look then see from there if anything is wrong.
Good luck

I'm trying to remember if they've got a rubber gromit in the other end of that bracket that bolts under the top yoke too. I can't honestly recall.

Item #10 is the  grommet that Hooli is referring to.

Took mine off a while afo, cleaned up thr mounting plate and reset the whole  lot,  doesnt  vibrate near as much now.
