Post by: grog on Monday, 26 April 2021, 07:17 PM
Not a fan of most new bikes. Prefer old skool looks. Dont mind new offering from Suzuki. Not a bike id buy,but compared to other newies, right up there i reckon. https://www.visordown.com/news/new-bikes/2021-suzuki-gsx-s1000-all-details-entirely-redesigned-motorcycle

Looks like it's been crashed, why are so many bikes designed like the model started to melt so the front is falling off. They they forgot to fit the rear 25% of the bike as well!

Crashed?  dunno, I think someone has punched it in the face, it's all sorta squashed up there.

They're all looking sorta like this now, must be 1 CAD drawing & ya just tweak it for different models.   The specs read very well though, except the "larger 16L fuel tank"

Oh dear Oh dear, I`m beginning to feel thankful that i`ve lived through arguably the best period of motorcycling ever. And now that its clearly over, (judging by the look of the latest offerings available), I`ll be happy to ride off into the sunset with a bigger grin than normal knowing that i`m piloting one of the very best `Real Bikes` ever produced......my `14 of course

.......it is little wonder that so many thousands of like-minded bikers are reaching for the keys to their Classics :smitten:!

I don't think there will be any bikes with style anymore. Euro compliances have seen to that, everything is built around emissions, what the bike looks like is an afterthought and I like dp1400 want the bikes I drooled over in my teens

Understand what you blokes saying. I got my licence first year K2 Honda released, i know all the classics. Also knew before that the old bikes, some beauties amongst them. Today i still find some beauties amongst latest, not a lot, but some.

I don't like it same as I don't like many of the newer bikes .
They just look wrong to my eyes and have tiny fueltanks
Don't look comfy for doing longer trips and can't carry luggage properly either 🤮

Erm yes, KiwiCol, these `comfy tourers` are all very well - until ridden in a strong cross-wind, then they become `very dangerous tourers`, unless of course you have the model that comes with stabilizers fitted  ;)!

Looking at a real tourer today while getting my puncture fixed. Think it must be the Africa Twins little sister. No need for a top box, the front basket fits a full face helmet too  :onya:

A group I go abroad with every year has a bloke on a K1600GT in it, ridden well those things are stupidly quick down twisty roads.  To the point I can't keep up on my 14, he did cook his brakes doing it though.

A mate has a big arse Harley, side panniers nearly touch upright. Has all the motor mods, brakes also, mega dollars. Screamin Eagle is stuff he uses, think thats right name. Try keeping up with him, straights or twisties. Amazes me. Just goes like it shouldnt.

We had a mates K1600 for 6 months when he had prostate removed. They accelerate like a Ferrari both sound and pace, traction control cutting in most times. Twisties are another story, it would take serious commitment to corner hard. I didn't own it so didn't try too hard. Quite happy to give it back and continue on with my GSX and R1200RT.  :stir: :stir: :stir:

I watched this bloke take 1/2" off the end of the pegs (hero bobs long gone) on a twisty road through the Black Forest last year.

I don't fit the R1200RT, my knees are up too high .
