Title: ZRX1100 - Project
Post by: Del on Saturday, 03 April 2021, 06:41 AM
Ive had this bike for six and a half years now - I bought it one morning rode it the 6 miles home and intended to use as a winter hack(Stupid of me) but me being me decided to clean it up a bit - so as Ive cleared my feet of paint jobs and house jobs I thought it best time to start to put it together and try to recall where all the cleaned and refurbished parts are

If no one mind Ill post some updates as I go - I do like a project thread myself

so here we go today got the cleaned and painted engine (Has ZZR1100 cams and new head gasket - compressions are all good) into the stripped and powdercoated frame - swing arm next (the 1st part I wandered about the house looking for - 30 minutes later (my house isnt that big) I found it hiding with the wheels and a Tony Archer seat I dont recall buying but must have

Cheers Del

A little bit more done today

Swing arm and shocks on - I seem to have an issue where parts I left in a specific place are no longer there - the rear swing arm pivot bolt and sundries well the main bolt and nut were then but everything else had somehow repositioned itself all over the garage and house - think it is the same instance as phenomenon as the 10mm socket elf

Many years ago my uncle has a BSA A10 which he often changed around and his nest project was turning into RGS spec so he bought a new cam for it.  While waiting for a few more bits and pieces he put the cam in a safe place.  My who was in the RAF father was away on deployment so we stayed at my Grans house for the nine months he was away.  My mother decided to help out and do a clear out so started to get rid of any rubbish and came across a mangled bit of steel that although shiny and in grease proof paper was obviously no good as it wasn't even straight  :whatever:, so it went in the bin.  My uncle was not best pleased  :furious:, perhaps some little helper has tidied up for you.  :whistling:

same story mjgt, my dad used to restore cars. my mum used to to get useless magna mail stuff, magazine shit. advertising all sorts of crap. brown bag came, mum thought just rubbish, in the bin.try buying a horn ring for a 1957 holden, thats what went in bin. they never got divorced. never asked him about that. only part of that car that was missing, mustve played in his mind. was my wedding car actually.

You've got that coming together a treat Del!   :onya: :clapping:  Not sure what's going on with my screen though, looks like the red springs are yellow and the black wheels are green :confused1: :whistling:
