Sorry if this has been covered before but didn't really find anything specific on the forum. I was wondering what is the best way to align the wheels after the rear is removed and how you set the chain tension before tightening the axel bolt.
I use a depth gauge to check and then a laser alinement thing to double check .
Is this any help Phil?
I used a caliper to measure the gap between the wheel spacer and the swing arm to get the rear wheel aligned.
Chain tension needs to be set/checked whilst on the side stand, as per the handbook
Agree, caliper easiest and best way. My factory marks are spot on, just lucky i guess. Doesnt worry me really, chain only gets adjusted once then replaced.
Well I hadn't thought of calipers and it does sound very simple. Will give it a go. Thanks all for the replies🤗
I do it Barmy's way too.
Little tip, set the chain about 1/2" too slack as tightening the axle always tightens the chain on every 14 I've touched. It always happens so you get used to allowing for it quite quickly.
