Ok fellas,
I said I photo document the build,so here's the start of it.
I'm still waiting on the downpipes fabrication, and the fueling computer, should have that in the next week or so along with the rest of the stuff.im back at work for 3wks, So wont see any of it till I get home.but I have a month off & plan to have it all together in that time,
As it stands the bike is stripped back to where I need it to be.I have it all mentally planned out..so should be a case of bolting everything on, a bit of wiring, and pushing the button.....
Lounge room or carpet in the workshop ???????? :stir: :stir: :stir:
Judging by the walls he's got a shipping container as a workshop.
/corrugated metal nerd
Not caring about your shed Andy, will follow your build. Should be quick bike.
Correct guys...I have a few containers for hire ..My garage is still full of unsorted crap from our move, literally cant swing a cat in there..so I have used one container to store the bikes and tools while moving & sorting the house out....they are actually ideal for this sort of thing
Now & then I consider replacing my leaky drafty prefab garage with one, but it'll probably never happen.
Shipping g containers are an excellent thing, we have two. One has my shit (wife says) l prefer treasure in. Got a double ender with a partition in, that is rented out. Have a set of French doors l intend to put in the side of the other.
Andy look forward to watching progress on your build. Nitrous not so much for me but a hairdryer would be fun. Good luck with making it all happen easily. :onya:
After over 6 weeks of waiting. Three weeks to make & just over 3 weeks customs and shipping....its arrived.
I've got some work to do on the sump pan for the oil return..and a bit on the clutch tomorrow...then bolt everything on...abit of wiring...should be running by the weekend :boogie:
Parts !! .......Looks exciting Andy
Definitely looks the business Andy, now where's Mr Nitrous when ya want him . . . ???
Looks a good bundle of go fast Andy. What bhp you lookin at? I rode a supercharged one long ago , it sure could move along.
Have bought the proboost kit from Finland?
They look like Proboost parts from Mr. Kelahaara from Rovaniemi to me. They are good stuff, but there are some minor things you should inspect.
Maybe they are done already. Send PM If you need info.
It's taken me 10hrs to get it all done..had it warming up for 10 minutes to get the oil around...and that's enough for one day..got to cut abit out of the left side panel and its test ride time..yep you fellas are correct it's a proboost kit from jarmo in Finland.. should be sitting around 220/230 hp,
Add another 100 when the gas goes on...
Oh....WTF is that 'j' shaped tube in the sump...some sort of drain from the clutch or gearbox ??
What a fuck on I've had with that thing...came off when I took the sump off..
I can see where it fitted into..but would it hell stay there trying to get the sump back on..
:smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Went for a ride to the coast today....and got there before I set off :rofl2:
Wow, you got that together fast! Looks great, but I think the short straight pipe would be just too loud for my old ears. On the plus side, you won't be wearing out front tires as much anymore . . .
:wheelie:
Thanks Col...it took me 10hrs on Tuesday....Once I got into it I didnt want to stop....Mrs B even brought my lunch down for me...I've got a very small leak when its warm...so the sumps gonna come off again to put a couple more banjo washers on the turbo oil return line..so the hose ferral stands off a touch more...and that's it mate....its a handful when it spools up...so playing today....its not making positive pressure till around 4k in sixth which is around 95mph......then spools up to 12psi very quickly......though the box up to about 6k in each gear your just looking at sky....its hilarious.....worth the 10hrs work .....and pleased you like it
Nicely done Andy. Cleans the bike up without the need for a muffler. How loud is it, will it pass an mot like it is?
With the power delivery as it is now sounds like you've turned it into a two stroke
What sort of coin do you have to part with for that kit and did you have to buy anything else to complete the task.
It is loud..but it's a very throaty deep sound....where I go for an MOT it will pass...seen him today :onya:
€2800 for the kit + import duty + handling charge +vat stands me at £3500
The kit itself is comprehensive everything you need is included except the connections to mate the fueling module to the standard injection system wiring....which need soldering...or scotch lock type connections (but not scotch locks they are shit if you ride in the wet)...I would suggest that you add a couple of banjo washers to the sump return..after you ground the cooling fins off to fit it...the hose ferral comes pre ground on one side but it's just a little to tall...but 3 instead of 1 washer will do the trick ...mines got to come off again to add the extra...hence a couple of drops of oil when hot..the kit will go straight onto a standard motor...but I've gone the performance route with yoshi cams, carillo rods, wiseco pistons etc
Wondered how things would handle doubling the horsepower, now we know.
Enjoy !! :onya:

Very nice Andy, but did you fit a extra gear or two in the gearbox? Waiting for boost when in 6th seems like you need a couple more. :stir:.
And then youre adding nitrous.....
Testament to your skills and to the quality of design of Suzuki of this engine. There arent many engines where you can bolt on a 200hp + kit on a stock motor. I realise youve changed pistons and cams, but i assume crank and block is still standard?
I should have a word with the fabricator of your exhaust - seems they short changed you! :boogie:
Have you riden any other bike with +200hp? Just wonder how it compares to other powerful and fast bikes when it has that much punch. That kit is tempting, I've visited their page every now and then. Tried H2 last summer and it left me wanting more.
Are you going to extend the rear swing arm?

Did it come with TD04 or Chinese turbo?
Did it come with TD04 or Chinese turbo?
It comes with a TDO5.16G Turbo, I have no plans to extend the arm...I love wheeling...this is my 6th turbo bike...and for the money ,its a very nice bit of kit...and up there with the more expensive turbos..alot of guys said they were shit...but...they hadnt actually seen one till now..and are impressed, very impressed..jarmo is a very helpful guy & will always answer your emails..& hes been doing this a long time..everything is proven...
The best part for me is,it runs like a standard 14 , till you hit 4 thousand,so stay off boost...that's 95mph in 6th....save fuel
Over 4 thousand, the secondary injection is cutting in...so 8 injectors and 12psi......fuel gauge drops like a stone..& your heads full of broken toys
Best of both worlds....but its addictive...1st through to 6th hitting 6 thousand in each gear is just fantastic ...loads of whine..loads of blow off chatter on changing up...& about 4 or 5 psi..front comes up about 2 feet...then down on the gear change..& back up again....love it

I should have a word with the fabricator of your exhaust - seems they short changed you! :boogie:
The kit comes with a longer pipe..which is under the engine ,stops at the front peg & again is 3"
But I like the aggressive look of the shorties...and asked if I could trade up for those instead...which wasnt a problem for jarmo to do for me
I have also that TD 05h-16g from Jarmo. 57 000 km now, no play, no leaks :clapping:
I like the sound of bikes characteristics now. Just the weapon to make the Subaru, Skyline cap on backwards drift children drool with envy. The bike looks quite brutish and l'm sure ridden with enthusiasm would perform that way.
But would my management enjoy wheelies whilst sitting on the back doing her knitting.... l think not !!
I'd better go out to the shed, pat mine and tell her how lovely she looks before she get jealous.

Good to know mate...tbf...in the past I've paid double what I gave for jarmos gear...and it was no better than his...I'm impressed...and my arms are abit longer :happy1:
Amazing job in such little time Andy. :hat:
Cheers grog
Check out YOUTUBE
Search GSX1400 TURBO
should pop up under the title - Andy GSX1400 TURBO First start up
I found it. Still cant believe you did all that in 10 hrs, amazing. Ive spent that on bloody centrestand this week. You have unreal bike, ill chuck the f....ing stand in bin.
Bloody hell that's awesome :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
Cheers fellas,
I could of done with a hand at least at one point, I wont lie, that was offering up the complete turbo just to see if the headers where a correct fit & it popped straight in...didn't even have the bolts out of the bag and the turbo was resting on my thigh..had to stretch for the bag and the fucking thing fell out of the ports....took me another hour to get it back in by myself ,just with the weight of it and the flanges flapping around...two people could do that in 10 minutes....it is what it is, at the end of the day...your only here once..🤣🤣🤣
Thinking of getting one of these kits, I've had a turbo in past, but was on carbs, complete pain in the ass, what was the lead time from ordering it, like you I work offshore, so can be difficult for timing stuff, had a good mooch around the proboost site, but haven't contacted them, having a frame built for a 14, so need to wait on that, to see if a proboost plenum will fit the new frame
Hiya mate...I wouldnt know if the plenum would fit your gia frame..but your more than welcome to measure any of the bits off mine...I'm offshore till the 19th may..on the beach for 3 wks after that....if that's any good for you..your only up the road from me..
Turn around time.......was told 2 wks to make, but turned into 3wks
Then just over 2 wks in Finnish customs..and a wk in the UK....so 6 wks and a couple of days...but all that's up in the air with Brexit and covid...could be more could be less
Cheers mate, will take you up on the offer of measuring the plenum, be a while though, GIA only starting the frame end off May, so be another couple month after that before I get the frame, wouldn't mind a look of the headers too, no down tubes on the ally frame, so wondering how that set up looks.
Is this shot any good to you
Other side
Cheers mate, that's the shot lol, looking at the angle of the two inner headers, it doesn't look like they could be shortened, but it all looks fairly tight to the engine, just with my frame having no down tubes, was worried incase it would sit too far out,
(//) my 1216 one aint far off being done, more excited about getting stuck into the 14 though
Looks way to pretty to ride :stir: :stir: :stir:
That's one hellva bike you've built there Jimbob, stunning! :onya: :clapping:
I agree, superb, got that real top quality look. Not colours id choose but thats what its all about, your bike. 👍👏
Having the same frame built for a 14, but it will be a bit of old school style to it.
Looking fwd to that build Mate. Touch of Old Skool.Love what you blokes build, keeps an old blokes heart beating.
Pretty much all done ..... for the time being :clapping:
Looks a beast alright! Very tidy job. :onya: :clapping: Wonder how she'd stack up on a dyno, that'd be real interesting. (for me anyway)
Looks like you've raised the ride height if I'm not mistaken :whistling:

Indeed it has Jack up blocks in the rear suspension, they have actually always been on
Now you've fitted a hairdryer and fire extinguisher does that change your insurance costs. It would make it uninsurable here.
Nice work l must say, bet its a thrill to ride. :onya:
Nice beast and great job AndyB :clapping:
Managed to get hold of a lock up clutch......got to find or make an extended clutch cover now...

Managed to get hold of a lock up clutch......got to find or make an extended clutch cover now...
centrifugal force throws arms outwards = locked clutch. How accurate does the weight of the socket head cap bolt have to be?
Well....theres a question :whatever:
The arms press on the standard pressure plate...so , any contact with the pressure plate is going to be better than the standard clutch....question is how much pressure is enough...
I've spoken to stuart at warp speed racing who made this lock up..hes also got clutch covers that he makes too, ( they are billet porn)
And through science, witchcraft, and pure guesswork I'll have to add this much weight to mine..🤣🤣🤣
Won't the whole contraption need dynamic balancing too? otherwise differences around the circumference could cause wobbles that'll stress the shaft it's hung on?
Nah....its not that complicated hooli mate....it bolts straight on to the 14 inner hub through the pressure plate via 6 studs...as long as you've got more or less the same weight on each leg (6 identical washers)... your fine
A quick update on the turbo..
Dropped it into my pals shop to get it retuned on the rolling road and AF meter...after changing the secondary injectors to ( dare I say this)....Honda blackbird injectors on the advice of Sean from big cc
That was 9 weeks ago as I've been that busy with work..However...I'm home Wednesday coming and I,ll be picking it up on Thursday...so theres one or two new bits on it aswell.....
Pictures next week
New electronics on the turbo
Cheers for that dave :worshippy:
AndyB can you take some closer pictures of how and where are fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator mounted?
Thanx in advance
Can't believe that I somehow missed this thread topic :confused1:
Great build

All standard stuff mate....only mod I've done so far to the pump is safety wire the regulator in place.

Ready to go down to BIG CC for mapping on Monday.
Just a quick seal and oil change on the forks this morning with stan from westgate super bikes ( Newcastle upon Tyne)
Stan is an accomplished turbo bike builder and world record holder for the fastest street legal gsxr1000 turbo in the world at 253mph set at elvington last year and works closely with Sean at BIG CC.
STAN from westgate super bikes ( hates his photo taken)
Buttoned up and ready for mapping.
New power commander 5
New 3 bar map sensor
New KMS management system
New injection loom
Secondarys removed
And lots of other stuff

Don't you use that Proboost secondary ECU anymore?
Andy, what kind of power at back wheel? Sure have put some work into it 👍👍
I,ve bit the bullet and ordered the same kit from proboost, only issue is the plenum may have to be altered for my frame,

Hi jussi mate,
Hope you are well,
The proboost ECU had a massive malfunction and was unserviceable .
I purchased a kronenbourg management system (KMS)
One reason for this is the tuner wouldnt touch the PB controller , hes the best in the country and just wont entertain them, 2nd reason is the KMS is far superior and gives you a huge amount of tuning points in comparison and is the choice in the northern hemisphere among the serious speed guys...

I dunno yet grog mate,
Its away down to Big CC tomorrow via courier...but I'm away back offshore for 3 wks tomorrow too....
I,ll get an email off stan @ WSB with the print out...if it hasnt detonated on the dyno
News from the dyno yesterday....first 3 pulls low boost ..3rd pull as you can see is
180hp at 175mph.
After some tuning magic.. a 4th pull at - 243hp ,153 foot lbs torque .
4th pull
Oh yeah..forgot to mention..we had to junk the internal waste gate...as it just refused to work anymore...milled the port out and added the far superior tial 50mm external waste gate and a new set of pipes to accommodate it
Out and about in the sun today..scrubbing in a new rear tyre
New seat came today...sitting in it rather than on it now..feels much better. And a little run out to the sea side
That sure is one awesome looking machine Andy! Must be bloody loud with a pipe like that on it, be too much for me & I'm deaf as!

Cheers col,
Its about as loud as the akrapovic I had on ( no DB killer). The turbine actually quietens it down abit....but..its fuckin orgasmic on full chat
Must be awesome Andy. No idea how they compare but 10 yrs ago rode 14 with supercharger. Was as you said, orgasmic.
Was out and about today, before going back to work tomorrow....took a photo or two
Looking good Andy :onya:
Andy have you been out riding with that Harley salesman Hooli ?
:rofl2: :happy1:...I was actually showing it off to one of the harley salesmen who wanted a nosey round it.......and managed to blag an oil filter for my harley oil change....didnt realise hoolie was a vtwin man aswell..
I do per chance also own an ah-merkin ditch pump alongside my bikes.
Oddly enough the salesman I got my HD off, owned a 14 himself.
As if one turbo charged 14 isnt enough of a headache.......
I bought another one today.
