Title: Hello from UK
Post by: spb2002 on Wednesday, 10 March 2021, 09:55 PM

Hi all, just registered today... Iam looking to buy a GSX1400 in the near future, so thought i'd check this site out for a buyers guide, or things to look out for.

Thanks

Ay up, we've got a guide somewhere but I can't think where. @gsxbarmy will probably know when he logs in.

I'm sure we had a better list once, but it might have been on the old Org.

Generally though, just anything you'd check on any bike as they are getting old these days. K2-K4 check the compression adjusters (bottom of the forks) & rear pre-loads aren't seized. K5 onwards they don't seem to be as much of an issue.

K5 onwards have an immobiliser recall that some bikes still haven't been back for. It's not a big job & they still do it for free, just worth checking when you get one to see if it's been done.

We did (and we do) but its just too large to load on here (or rather should I say that this is only the second time it's ever been asked for)

@spb2002 - I've sent an email to your email account with the relevant attachment  :onya:

Up north is about 5hours south of here and I'm only half way up Scotland.
@spb2002 you are right some great roads down there.
They prepared me for the roads in Scotland as I moved up from Nottinghamshire in the late 1980's
