Was gave these today.
NOPE !!!
Looks like Hooli has owned it . . . :whistling: :rofl2:
I'm sure they were running when they were parked!
No thank you.
Nope.
Why would I need that when I have a perfectly good non-running CX500 in numerous boxes....?
That's the best place for a plastic maggot.
Nothing to add, just agree with Hooli. Ive actually ridden one, they were pretty horrible.
Yes, I have had two, one in 79 and another in about 87. Very smooth but gutless commuter with a big bike feel to it.
My first bike, only brand new one I have ever had, but I have owned one bike or more ever since so it was good for something.
Hope not only have I never had one I've never even ridden one .
I did have a cb250n superdream for a very short time in the 80's but that's as near as I got to these kind of bikes .
Lucky I guess .
Seth that is a CB250N Superdream.
If i`d have had the misfortune to own one, i`d have given it to Irish too........ :happy1:
@DP1400 There's no way I was buying one.
:happy1:

Yes
@Bri1100 It was a stop gap bike after my RD350LC was stolen .
10yrs ago a good mate of mine restored a nice RD400. He didn`t ever own one `back in the day`, and upon completion he commented to me how slow it felt by modern day standards......so imagine how slooooow a 250 Superdream would feel today. OMG :rofl2:
If it was all about speed, we would all be riding Kawasaki's.
@Hooli et al - "Though shalt not speak bad of the plastic maggot"
Commandment 11. Read your bible.
Surely it can't be any worse than the Yamaha XS250 that I owned for a short while back in the 80's :imrgreen:
Have to confess..... I did have a 400 Dream.. and loved it. yeahhhhh.... I know..... :whistling:
never stooped as low as the maggot tho...

Kawasaki's you say Irish
Spotted this at the weekend thought of the restorers on here that had mentioned the CL.
I had a Honda CD250 back in the day - couldn't pull the skin off a pudding.
I once had 1967 CB125 Twin. Could rev its arse out all day, around 10k revs from memory. My other at time was Ariel 500 Red Hunter, reckon it struggled to make 3k revs. :) Which one worth the most these days?
Not guilty. I had an X7 back in the day
I did rent a 400 Superdream on a Spanish holiday which, at the time was the biggest bike I'd ridden, I was expecting great things but turned out to be a bit flat compared to the X7.
Got some powder coating done on the black one. Now the restoration begins.
With the weight of all that paint on it, it`ll be even slower..... :rofl2:

When I get the second one done I'll give it to you.
We currently use CB250's for training bikes. Fabulous little beasts if used for their design purpose.
I have also recently purchased a GSX250S 1983 model, just needs cosmetic work done.
@Batkwaka I assume the GSX250S is a mini Katana. Was looking around for one a while back for my son when I still had the 1100, ended up doing up an Across for him it's still in my shed somewhere.
The superdream isn't the slowest bike I have, of the top of my head the V90 and KV75 wouldn't be able to keep up.
You`re right Irish - it was a mini Katana :onya:. I believe the model run only lasted 2/3 years, so a very rare little bike!
The GSX250S was the Katana model in the same vain the GSX650G was a Katana. Better model was the Japan market only Retro 250 Katana of the 1990's which had the 4 cylinder motor and Katana fairing. Some grey imports were available.
Bloke at work has a GSX250 for his wife, IL4 engine that rev's it's nuts off! 4 cyl 250cc, bit loopy I reckon, but there ya go.
I had the GSF250 - the baby bandit, 4 cyl 4 stroke with miking flat slide carbs.revved all the way to 12000rpm.
Was great fun, all 37kw of it.

Only 12000rpm I'm sure the Across is 16000.
I was going to say, my Hornet goes to 13.5k.
Across listed at 14500. 1998 gsxr 250 at 17k. 250 Honda at 19k. Best ive seen in car, twin cam corolla, faulty rev limiter, 12k, they say theycan go 16 and not break. Mate had V8 Porsche, could do 10k.
Across power rating is at 14500 from memory it goes to 16500.
I always wanted an Across back in the day. It's party trick - flick the fuel door and hide the number plate could have come in handy :)
I believe that these days maintenance is a bit of an issue though given the relatively high stress the engine is under, difficulty in obtaining parts etc. Shame.
