Hey everyone I just picked up a 2005 gsx14 and I'm having an issue where the taillight comes on and stays on when I lock the steering lock? Has anyone else come across this issue.
Morning, you're turning the key too far.
There's a position further anti-clockwise from the steering lock that turns the 'parking lights' on.
Steering lock? Never knew......mines a 2002 does mine have one? I'll need to check
Really well don't I feel dumb. Glad I asked before I started chasing wires trying to find an issue. Thanks mate

Yes, it will have one :onya:
@Warbo Do be aware also with the steering lock that if when you lock the bike, you just put the tip of the key in the ignition lock (the top essentially), then you can turn the ignition cover to keep any rain/dirt out of the lock. Do reverse when you want to unlock

Yup, but if you've never used it you may find it doesn't work. The mech for it is near the bottom of the barrel/ignition switch assembly & it's were the crud, crap & moisture collects. When I rebuild my ignition I also took the steering lock out & cleaned it & put fresh grease & it's much easier to use now.
Oddly enough the parking light bit still doesn't work, but as I've never used it I didn't care.
