Today was 30 yrs at same job. Initially came to fill in for a week. Thats a lot of bloody cars ive fixed. Got presents and shouted out for lunch. Didnt even remember it was anniversary. Had a great day. 👍
Well done Grog, that's how long I served in the RAF, and I got a clasp to a medal to prove it, in the post.
I think I can say this with some confidence. You must be an awesome employee to have been kept on for 30 years of service, well done Grog. :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy: :worshippy:
I'd also venture to say not many of todays workers will record 30 years with one employer. Just saying. :rofl2: :rofl2:
I did 43 years -30 years got a plastic model of the BT tower - for 40 years got tickets for Alton Towers ( a amusement/theme park) what a strange thing to give as most with that length of service would be late 50's
must have been a 12 year old that decided that :bugga: I was slim and had hair when I started :bugga:
Well done Grog :onya:
I left school in 1978 and went to work for Hotpoint as a field service engineer. That lasted 18 years until I'd had enough of it. I then joined Mead Packaging (Now Westrock) in 1996 printing cartons for all the major breweries to pack their cans of beer etc in. Heineken and Guinness being two of our main customers.
If, health wise I last until April 28th this year I'll have done 25 years with them.
I know for a fact that all they give you for 25 years service is a certificate, a bottle of cheap wine and one days extra holiday for that year only!
Pitiful recognition for such a long length of service :furious:
I was with the company for 30 years and he was brilliant to work for.
39 yrs with my old employer - got £250 voucher on my 25th anniversary, then rolled on to 39, then, bingo, an early retirement opportunity so I got out with a mega pension deal and my director even worked a redundancy package into it too :) Needless to say, I wasn`t slow in my exit. A really weird feeling on my last 84 mile drive home though......happily, as it turns out I got out at exactly the right time. Never looked back! 2012 was a great year.........!!
Self employed for nearly 30 years. No holiday pay, no sick pay, no statutory holidays and not much of a retirement plan, my boss is a prick !! :jack:

I served 29yrs and 9 months in the RAF and got absolutely nothing when I retired hurt! I was graciously offered an interview with the station Commander, but as I had never spoken to him before, it seemed a bit late to start!
I then did 15 years with a contracter supporting the Army Apache and got a lot of genuine thanks, a smashing framed picture and some personal gifts from my workmates.
Oh and the best gift of all. Early retirement!
Chip.
