Title: Carbon Rear Hugger
Post by: J16SDA on Tuesday, 19 January 2021, 08:37 PM
Morning all,

I managed to get myself a free carbon effect hugger,  its abit faded yellow in places so before I install it I wanted to either paint it or get it relaqured if that's a thing? I'm not up on my Bodyshop knowledge so unsure what is achievable. Please see attached.

Thanks

you sure that is carbon fibre effect look awfully like real carbon from here

to re clearcoat it you need to flatten it with 800 grit wet & dry paper and once smooth wipe with panel wipe and then apply the clear coat (lacquer) - if using rattle cans then take your time building up coats but this may leave it slightly dull so you will need to polish it with compound or spend a while t cutting it to get the sheen back

best finish would be to get some one with painting equipment to clear coat it - this way you will get a really good deep finish

Hope this helps fella
