They always witter on about speed being the cause of accidents .......the advertising says "the greater the speed the bigger the mess"
Without doubt the greatest cause of accidents is lack of attention and distraction.

Off to jail, but not really ..... doesn't sent much of a message that justice has been served.
Then again the professional word twisters (lawyers) are as much to blame. She was using her phone.            (Sorry to offend if any of you guys are lawyers)

Our road code here says you must be able to stop in half the clear visible distance ahead.   I love being tailgated.... not !
Sad story.

That's an unbelievable and totally outrageous sentence. His family must be devastated at the leniency and I hope they appeal. I don't care how nice a person she is or how sorry she is. She killed a guy because she couldn't be arsed to concentrate. It's always the same with these stupid drivers "I didn't see him" or "he came out of nowhere" PAY ATTENTION and you WILL SEE A BIKE!

Listening to a podcast isn't watching or using the phone, no different than listening to talk back radio, she probably felt she had to find some excuse for her inexcusable actions

Dunno about over there Grog, but here young girls driving are entitled to do whatever the f@#k they want, & they'll tell you too.      Real entitled attitude coming through in some of them.

It's  not easy texting and putting their lippy on.

Have to admit to a concentration lapse myself today. Toiling away in the workshop and had some cashew nuts l was snacking on. Have been trying to entice the cat through the new cat door in the workshop. So l grab a handful of cat treats to put in her dish...... but popped them into my mouth instead. So easy to be distracted, meow.

What a disgrace - firstly, she clearly had no idea how fast she was driving, secondly her `sentence` was totally inadequate.

I can`t understand why it isn`t made illegal to have a phone turned on in a vehicle which is being driven, (I`ve chosen my words carefully!).

I guess the real problem nowadays is that the Police don`t bother `policing` any more, (yes, there are enough of them), therefore the enforcement of any law is hopeless to say the least.

Wonder what the sentence would have been if she killed a mum and two babies?
