Have never used a action camera on my bike. I know nothing. I have bar end mirrors, can i use one of the 6mm original mirror threads to mount a camera? If so, what do i buy? Thanks.
I used to use an SJ4000 Action Camera. A copy of a Go-Pro but a fraction of the cost. Full HD and did the job perfectly. Battery life however is not very long..About an hour of recording.
I mounted mine on my lid, but you get a selection of mounts with it that you could stick anywhere on the bike.
This was a test from when I had mine mounted on the rear of the bike.

I cant find the SJ4000 now, but this one looks exactly the same.

The biggest problem with an action cam is that you have to be very careful about what you do with it and who sees the videos. If the police catch you speeding or you are involved in an accident they will immediately confiscate your memory card. If they find any wrongdoing you could be in the shit. There is a lad in prison after his card was confiscated and they found he had been speeding at well over a ton on a number of occasions so locked him up.
I machined a bit of aluminium and fitted it as part of the headlight mount.

It seems that mounting the camera on your helmet may give you some protection, but it's whether the police obey the letter of the law:

I have purchased a dash cam off "Wish", cost about $100aud delivered. Has two cameras - one front, one back seems to record good footage but I'm not sure how to remove the Date Stamp.
Date stamp is one of the menu items, just scroll through all the menu options & there will be a Date Stamp option there somewhere, just select it & turn it off.
I left mine on, it's not that bad & lets you know years later when you did stuff.

IMO there is a case both for and against turning the date/time stamp off. Personally I have mine for recording my rides but also if I need evidence of something happening (to me) in which case a date/time stamp can be key, esp if I need it as evidence for something having happened to me.
I just found a better photo of my camera mount.
@Snapey - nice and stable? No vibrations?

I'll try and send a video Mike.
Edit; It tells me the site can't be reached so there must be some sort of blocking with the video.
