Its a classic ET with a 1400 lump..I like it
Not much left of the ET.
Great concept, terrible looking bike IMO
I think the bike looks almost completely awesome apart from the clocks as mjgt mentioned. A set of clocks set in a black plastic surround would change things completely in my opinion.
Not too bad, colour could be better and that god awful headlight looks like it came off a Munch Mammoth.
ET
That's much better, had one in the 80's in blue.
Exact same as mine was. What a bike.
Its possible that there were uglier looking bikes out there at the time, but not too many.... :stir:

Each to their own, some have that opinion about the later Katana.

Honda
Know a guy that has a low miles turbo one of those in his collection. It's something he always wanted, there you go.
A friend of mine has always applauded the CX500 he learned on it and then rode it in to the ground, no mean feat. They are def as ugly as a hatfull. :stir: :stir: :stir:
Yes, the CX500 wasn't the best looking bike of its era - but a huge hit with the courier boys if i remember rightly.
Honda blandness and reliability seemed to rule Honda's mid range at the time. Even the popular 400-4 was a bike to fall asleep on, compared to the strokers of the day. A couple of mates had them and wow, were they slow compared to our RD's and S3's.
Yeah, sure were slow. 350-4 a pretty bike but a sewing machine to ride.
The 350 and 400 four. I spent a weekend tucked in behind that little cockpit fairing on that 350 with goes quite well as it has a big bore kit.
The Oxley and Thunderbolts, was a good laugh showing the sportsbike riders what it could do down the mountain between Carsons Lookout and Manning River, they had to wait for the climb back out of the valley to pass me lol.
