Is it possible to adjust it? The reason I am asking this are vibrations I feel through handlebars and footpegs. Last winter I adjusted throttle bodies, TPS and STPS and it's spot on. I already made external fuel filter mod, cleaned and inspected injectors and put new fuel pump before adjusting. Bike runs smooth on idle but I can feel vibrations around 3000 rpm where engine is 90% of time. Anyone tried to adjust it or it has to be in one specific position referred to manual?

The 14 has the same principle: a single balancer shaft with the degrees on the clamp.
I can see no reason why the busa adjustment video would not work on our 14.
I might even try it in my own bike after this winter.
For us blokes... finding a whine and levering in the middle is our second nature :rofl2:
Mine is set according to the manual and also has a slight vibration. Not enough to do anything about it but that video makes it look dead easy
I can't find the post but someone forum mentioned synchronizing throttle bodies oat 3000 rpm, maybe that would help reducing vibrations?
Taught me something, didnt know 14 had adjuster. Had a look this morn, there it was. Mine is super smooth so wont be trying.

I think if you need to adjust it, it's not because the crank has went out of balance.
Very interesting, I saw the adjuster on the weekend when reinstalling my polished exhaust pipes, now I know what it is. No plans to adjust it, but will be paying attention to vibration through the rpm range.
I will try throttle bodies sync again and if that doesn't help, I'll try adjusting balancer and let you know if there is any improvement.
It might be worth a look a the Honda CB 1300 forum as I believe these bike are well known for going out of balance. There might be some set up tips which could prove useful for the 1400, as they have a similar adjustment system.

. Would the balance shaft only cure imbalance at certain rpm? My understanding is the adjuster operates a cam or eccentric that changes the balance point. Also I don't think it would be impossible to balance throttle bodies at 3000 rpm, but it would be hard to get a vacuum reading at those revs. My tip would be check all frame bolts etc or anything that could be loose causing vibration. Head stem, wheel and swing arm bearings, sprocket carrier and calipers mounts, footpegs and exhaust hangers included.

Absolutely correct
@Hooli - indeed I found that loosening off the engine bolts then supporting the engine in the frame from underneath when I re-torqued them up did indeed reduce vibration :onya:
I've had vibration on my bike twice, first time the chain was knackered and the second time a bolt had come out of the Givi luggage bracket.
