Hello gentlemen.
A few days ago the bike would not start. It cranked over just fine but no fireing. I got the thing started by repeatedly switching the ignition on and off with a pause between. On the fifth cycle it started and ran and rode as normal. I know about the dealer plug trick but could only find a connector with 4 banks of 2 contacts which seemed to conflict with the information I had which said the connector had just 2 contacts. I listened for the pump running and observed the mileage reading appearing on the clock. When failing to start the instruments cycled but "check" remained in the window. The pump would run but only for half a second. When it worked ok the mileage appeared and the pump ran up to pressure and away I went. I'm reasonably confident that this has happened to you guys so if you have a fix I will be greatful.
Regards Mal.
Later bikes have four wires in the plug, the info is in this thread somewhere https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=744.0
You'll only get a code while the FI led is lit & the fault is present though. I'd check the killswitch is clean, the sidestand switch retracts fully & the grey/white multiplug under the LH sidecover is dry inside for starters.
I don't think it'll the ignition switch as when I've have similar issues caused by that the FI led never lit.
Yep, "CHEC" is kill switch.

Yep, "CHEC" is kill switch.
It can be lots of things, any of which don't allow the bike to run.
Thanks Gentlemen.
When it stops raining I will investigate. The bike lives outside so might be condensation or corrosion.
Best regards Mal
