My original rear pads were terrible, hardly worked. Were still like new at 40th k. Changed rotor and pads to Metal Gear. Brilliant brake for rear use, wont lock up but so good around town, slow stopping etc. Actually works. Today i had wheel out, pads are nearly finished at 23th ks. Not a long life, must be very soft but ill fit same again. I know lots dont use/bother about rear but i like it to work.
On one of my last bikes it had Brembo's on the rear and they would lock easily.
I tried their pink colour pad which is the softest and bingo, apply continuing pressure for more braking and they would never lock.
Now cant remember if i got sintered or organic. Guess theres a part number on them, would like same.

IMO Organic are better for the rear
@grog (at least that was my experience with SBS and EBC pads). Bit more "give" on them so they work, but less chance of locking the rear wheel
I always go organic in the rear too, for the same reason.
But then I always run organic fronts to make the lever heavier too, so my opinion maybe useless etc etc
I use organic pads all round, no problem with strong braking at both ends.
opportune I was about to post a thread asking organic v sintered for my rear :)
metal gear organic it is :)
Just need to get there some time.
I'm not sure my rear brake works  on the odd occasion I've pressed on it it hasn't provided a lot of stopping power.
Searched up on DP brakes today, were recod by Brisbane Suzuki dealer. Hes been selling them for 3 yrs, reckons good. Made in England so i thought for sure you UK blokes would know about them. No one has answered so i guess not popular. Im biting the bullet, just ordered a rear set, $43 landed. They say dust and noise free, will let you know.
How come you aren't using Metal gear again, or are you giving DP a try to compare. Just wondering.
SFC, exactly that, No prob with Metal Gear, short life i thought. 23 th ks, not even being hard. DP say triple life from theirs. Just a change basically, dont like them, know i can go back to Metal Gear. I did same with EBC, threw rear pads in bin after 3 weeks, noisy.
My MetalGear pads are noisy but maybe I just dont remember the,m being quiet when new (they might have been) plus I'm unsure whether the right anti-squeal plate things are actually fitted on my bike.
I tried years ago some Premier Kevlar which I think are their P series organic front and rear on one of my bikes.
They worked great at either end. This was with cast iron rotors.
I think they are Scottish made.

My new EBC organic don't make a sound
Steve, mine were prob sintered, cant remember. Thinking about it, mustve been as they wrecked the rotor. Still shouldnt have happened but did.
makes sense
Not rear but front. Mates MT10, very average front brakes for such a quick bike. Monoblocks. Today we fitted Brembo SA pads to it. He reckons its gone from useless to more you squeeze, harder it stops. Very pleased. Standard pads were Toyo.
I`ve got a mate with the opposite problem, he`s bringing up his KTM superduke again with a third set of pads for me to fit as the originals, and his researched last set he reckons are too touchy and hard to modulate, not sure about it to be honest, but he reckons it`s a "thing" with the superdukes, I`ve ridden it a few times and didn`t notice anything wrong, but I`ve already told him he`s more than likely just a dickhead.
@steve porter My mate has a Superduke he mainly uses it on the track but also on road, I can ask if they change pads for different situations.

I reckon his brain to hand coordination isn't up to the task of differentiating between his main ride R 1150 GS adventure and the KTM

Think you will find that with most GS riders myself not included.
Put new pads in the superduke today EBC HH and he reckons they feel great, the ones I took out were as new, barely bedded in Ferodo, so they either are better or he is to embarrassed to say otherwise after all my shit hanging
He hasn't been using the rear brake much this week.
