I've just finished doing this 1988 FXSTC custom softail . It's taken me over a year to do...there isnt a single part of this bike that hasnt had my hands on it.....it only has 30,000 km (less than 20k varied miles) so it was worth doing,as the factory blue framed models are quite rare in the UK...its been tastefully upgraded, S&S carb ,2 inch drag pipes, ultima programmable single fire ignition , le pera seat, and a whole lot more stuff...very happy the way its turned out & gets a lot of attention when it's out....its been my everyday ride when I'm home.....BUT..oddly enough I've never ridden it since I got the 14
Hope you like it
I do like a tidy hog, I am considering buying one as my next bike.

I'm toying with the idea of letting it go...but its gonna be 9 grand....it wants for nothing...and comes with all parts to go back to standard
Where i live, we have lots of flies and lots of Hardlys. Which is more annoying? The flies at least are quieter.
I do like a stripped back HD, the ones with everything from the HOG catalogue nailed on do nothing at all for me.

Nice try Andy but I'm looking at a new low rider S but with forward controls. I can't take any bike that weighs in at a ton with only a single disk seriously.
A low rider S...nice...I had a hankering for a softail breakout. but I'm only home 6 months of the year, 3 of those its winter, I cant justify 17 grands worth of bike sitting in the garage 9 months of the year ,that's just stupid for me....the old evo is now playing second fiddle to the 1400. That's why I'm toying with the idea of selling it....its to nice to only be used a few times a year..& needs to be ridden..
Also....be aware of the early twin cam Harley's if the S is one ....they have cam chest problems. With the cam chain adjusters and cam support bearing being soft...the later ones where well sorted.
Yes mate I've read all the reviews and seen most of the vids but I'm looking at a Milwaukie 8 engine.
