 Horrible

Why would anyone do that to a naked bike  :whatever:

Awful isn't it? It's well done but defeats the entire point of buying a naked bike.

Yeah, I'm a nudist. Not for me.

It looks familiar but I'm not up on the models. Is it a custom or from another bike ya reckon?

I've seen the details of it somewhere, can't recall if it was on here or FB though.

To be honest; even though I loath the application I do admire the execution. Could do with some super shiny forks...lol  :stir:

It is well done, agreed.  I think it looks great.  We are all different & our bikes reflect that.   Instead of why?  think, why not.  They've made it how they like it.

Very attractive - but the bikes looks crap  :bugga:

Not unattractive, just not naked. Think the angles and proportions look pretty good to be honest. That said l like the look of mine just as it is.... even with its fly screen.

Maybe they really wanted a `pan european` but then realised they`d be too bored riding the Honda !

I'm not sure if it's off another machine or not; some years back I do recall that a 3rd party manufacturer - in France I think - did bring out a full fairing for the 14 and I suspect that that picture may be of one.

Reminded me of the Suzuki GSX1100F - circa 1990's

Had the electrically height adjustable screen if memory serves me correct.

A nice spot  :onya:- i`d forgotten this bike, not seen one of these for years. Must have been a very short model run, super rare now i guess. Not a bad looking tourer, though I bet it felt a bit underpowered with a load!

Not under powered at all. From memory around 130 bhp.No gsx1100 underpowered, were superb in that area. Think the 16 inch wheels gave it weird handling, will have a search. My old gsx11, had gs1000 at same time, no comparison, much faster and fuel efficient. 1000 was a great bike but 4 valver just flogged it. Every bit as quick as 14. Just my opinion.

Interesting grog, sounds like it was a really good bike then.

Not sure on your power reference to the GSX-R1100, but mine was awesome, N Model, amazing power everywhere - it absolutely flew. It was a big heavy bike too.....

The 16 inch wheel started back in 84, I had an EF they did have a wobble in front most did even the RZ500 tried to kill me a couple of times until it got a damper. I have had and still have small front wheel bikes the best being the 900R for performance and handling but the EF has the grunt along with the FJ.

I had an EF back in the early 90's (Pearl White and Champagne) it was indeed an awesome tourer. The windscreen moved but not really enough to change the air flow to any noticeable level. Didn't lack any horsepower  :onya:.

Front tyres were def an issue and prone to tank slapping at speed over undulating surfaces.

Sorta defeats the naked muscle bike thing altogether

It certainly fixes a couple of long distance issues the GSX1400 was lacking in. They've done an excellent job getting it all to gel. A good bit of customising in my opinion.

14s don't have any long distance issues they lack in, they are perfect for long trips.

When I ride my 14 and am being buffeted by the wind I feel like every motorcycle rider until the 80s. That's why I like it. I don't want to be protected from the wind. I want to feel it.

Another bonus is when I'm doing 100km/h it feels like 200 and if I'm doing 140+ it feels like a million miles an hour! Keeps me satisfied at safer speeds. Same goes for me exhaust and 3rd around town and 4th on the  open road.

We have small handlebar screens on our bikes .
Mine due to breaking my neck a couple of times in car crashes over the years .
But our bikes have been to Italy, Denmark ,Poland and most countries in between .
With out any comfort problems .
We do like to stop ever 100 miles or so and every other stop is at a meal time lol
So happy days touring on a gsx1400.

Haha... I just got a shiver. Could go for 4 or 5 years with post updates every time I come across a new snap ring.

Only when I'm doing 100 do I change into 6th but drop down to 5th pretty quickly on anything other than a mild bend. 5th sometimes when I'm doing 80. Actually come to think of it when I got lost and ended up at Cape Jervois I did spend a lot of time in 6th just swaying through the long bends. That was fun. But around town I'm hardly ever higher than 4th. Fuel economy is of no concern to me. I'm used to driving V8s and this has got more power than anything I've ever had and still gets better mileage than a small Mazda. For $20 I can have as much motorcycling in one day as my bum can handle.

I'm all about 1st 2nd and third. I tend to stay away from the high speed stuff. I'm enjoying playing with the low end torque and acceleration...said the guy who's only ever seen 7th once on a quiet abandoned back road 50 miles from the nearest farmhouse.

So just a long weekend then?

For comparative purposes:

London, England - Zagreb, Croatia
18 hr 5 min (1,074 mi) (1,728 km)
international trip traversing 5 countries
(UK - Belgium - Germany - Austria - Croatia)

Brisbane, Australia - Melbourne (still Australia)
18 Hr 1 min   (1,104 mi)  (1,776 km)
domestic trip.
note how it's only a small amount of just ONE country!

Maps attached for comparison.

No, he punished himself enough already.
