Post by: Farmhand on Thursday, 22 October 2020, 05:48 AM
Hi guys,

In the next few weeks i will be stripping my bike down to the frame, as i want be make the bike mint.

The frame will go for powder coating and while it's away I'd like to give the engine a good clean up

does anyone know where I could buy a stand from or borrow one?

Cheers for now

Chris

Be handy to know where you are in the country Chris, maybe someone close to you may then be able to help.

If you are anywhere near South Essex, I have a paddock stand you can borrow

Don't want a debate, but seriously consider painting rather powder coating the frame as there is plenty of evidence that it is a much better way to go

Agree Steve. Done a few over the years, always came up good.

Over the years I've heard of guys having earth problems after powder coating. One guy I new had to scrape/grind powder coat off down to metal under the earth mounts and after this no further problems. Something to consider.

Hi chris
I've painted mine and this was done two years ago and I've got to say it's had no issues at all and still going strong not blisters or cracks mate
