Title: My k3 battery dies when using heated grips
Post by: Big ted on Saturday, 17 October 2020, 03:34 PM
Me back again guys
Charging issues now.
Checking charge rate at apx 3000 is 12.67v
Stator volrage from the 3 yellow wires is 60 to 62v new battery and rectifier fitted but still only getting a charge rate of just under 13v
Bike runs and starts ok but if i use heated grips it wont start once ive ridden 20 mins or more.
Could this be a stator issue or the wiring from stator to rectifier.
Has anyone got wiring diagram or directions to obtain one please so i can rewire it and tick yet another box

Good voltage from that stator but poor charging points to the reg/rec. I hope you've got small hands to take it off without removing half the bike as it's near the swingarm pivot.

I have heard of the connector rotting and causing issues. There is a full test procedure in workshop manual for the reg/rec too.
