Hi
Got to say i was surprised to receive a Safety Recall letter for my 2009 GSXR 750 the other week, considering it's now 11 years old, for a replacement rectifier.
Then today, i received another Recall for the replacement of the front brake master cylinder. All F.O.C
Hats off to Suzuki and Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency :hat: :onya:
Wish they would do a recall for my poor old 1999 GSXR750 SRAD she really does need some TLC. Not sure I have the skill set to bring her back to life, but not given up yet. She maybe on the critical list but there is hope. New fuel pump arrived today, the old one was in a shocking state, shorting out and seized solid. Final rinse of the petrol tank to remove the last remnants of rust and sludge after soaking in white vinegar now completed and looking good. Spark plugs cleaned and also look okay, oil in the cylinders for a while now and the engine turns over freely and well without the plugs fitted. Will try to start her up in a few days. If she goes then it's on to a brake refurb, new forks seals and new chain and sprocket set. She hasn't run for 5 years since the last time I had her on a track day at Snetterton. My Mate stopped riding after that as his knees gave in, not a crash just so knackered they hurt too much to ride. The old girl has sat in my garage rotting away ever since. Wish me luck🤞
Milts, that is outstanding. Hard to believe your luck👏
That's a good result, my 7 year old merc had a recall at the end of last year for air con gas, had to be replaced and some of the valves then the air con fully checked and serviced after installing new parts. Also gave me free software update and fitted a remote telemetry module so I can keep tabs on it from my phone, great service.
