Hello all. I was on what I think was an older iteration of the forum. Just noticed my post count was quite low! I haven't been on here in a while as my 14 has been off the road for a while. It fell off the side stand on a day I had planned a good route into Wales, had been taking my black dog for walkies for a while and that was just about the end of a particular tether...
Just getting the old girl, K5 1400 about 15000 on the clock, back and running so I can hopefully take her on a few long range adventures. I have a little 600 Bandit (my first "big" bike) that helped me fall back in love with biking.
I've posted a bit in the technical section about the trials of removing a Datatool immobiliser from the 14; there are going to be many more appeals for advice as I do other tasks on the bike.
Location is Chester so North/Mid Wales is my go to riding area, when I get the 14 road worthy and legal I hope to head to Scotland but would love to go to the South of France eventually.
I'm a bit of a cliche; brought up on rock/metal in the 80s, love bourbon, played in bands and roadied for a bit but got rid of the mullet a while ago. Love live music and have seen many bands of the years.

Welcome Mate. Good music just part of life, whatever your fave is all good.
Hi Star,
First off welcome mate I was born and bread in the North. Born in Leigh and grew up in Culcheth between Leigh and Warrington. Anyway, first major tip from me as I know from other posts your cleaning your bike. Use silver foil (same as you use for your Sunday Roast) to clean and remove rust from your chrome parts. Bunch it up, add water (just dip in water) and polish rust off. It won't scratch and will shift rust like you won't believe. Loads of video's out there but please use water, Coca Cola makes no difference, just messy. If you add anything use table salt as that has a chemical effect on metal.
Good luck and again welcome. I've only been a member for about 6 months but can tell you now this is a fabulous forum. Already guys on here have got me out of trouble and on the right track a number of times.

It's ooop norf in a real country, past Hadrian's wall is furrinshire so doesn't count. That's like saying Berlin is 'north Italy'.
Just had a look on the map where Warrington is, between Liverpool n Manchester. So, which do ya identify as? or is it neither?
