Title: New bike
Post by: Duncan on Sunday, 30 August 2020, 12:28 AM
Hi, I think I have finally found a bike I want. I'm after your wisdom on whether or not you think it's a good deal or not?
It's a 2004, k3, with 4500 miles from new. A good service history, old mot's, Aftermarket cans, screen, and crash protection. Its £7k
What's your thought guys and gals?

Nice sounding bike but seriously over-priced

Hi Duncan,
Can't find the bike your looking at at Ritebike but I would say from a dealer it sounds top end price wise but not stupidly so. As long as it is immaculate then I would say it's a relatively decent  buy with that mileage.

Posted this a few days ago that maybe genuine but needs checking out very carefully:

These bikes real,y need viewing, I had a look at a red/black one in Aberdeen a couple of weeks ago, looked decent but not without faults it was £3000 its now advertised on ebay for over £5000, it still looks like its got the same warped discs on and carbon cover up pat hes on the front of the tank, i can't see if the frame has been touched up by the rear shock mounts cos pics are poor quality, doubt the leaking fork seal has been done. Buyer beware

Seems UK 14 are double the price of what they fetch in Aussie.

£7K is top money so it needs to be absolutely perfect for that with a decent warranty.

Hi, ritebike have taken it off the site because I put a deposit down on it. Phil, it is the same bike that you sent a link through for. Ritebike bought it and added 3k to the price. I spoke to the lady that sold it to them and she said as soon as she had advertised it she realised it was too cheap as the phone never stopped ringing. I'm going down to check it over tomorrow. I hope it's as nice in real life as it is in the pictures.🤞

Was this the one being sold by the lady who's husband had sadly died a year or so ago?
If it was I remember she had it advertised on one of the GSX1400 Facebook pages for around £4k.

Hope it's the one Duncan it does look awesome and from the story probably genuine. £7k or thereabouts from a dealer is what a mint one usually goes for from my research earlier this year when I got mine.

Sounds really expensive to me, even if it is a minter with nice extras.

I think the question of realistic value has been answered elsewhere in the thread, ie. the dealer has added £3k to the original asking price for the exact same bike that was available privately for £4k!!

No idea what the top book price is on a nice K3, but to me it sounds like a £4.5 - £5k bike  :whistling:

Second fastest colour scheme, only B/W K2s are quicker.
