As I was cleaning the headlight area I found this phantom plug just sitting there not attached to anything. It's got two wires, brown and black+white stripe. There seems to be some casual electrical tape attaching it to the main head light wires. Anyone want to take a guess as to what it's for?
Could be for a park light which I don't think the Aussie model has.

That's exactly what it is. :clapping:

Yes, or DRL if you fit an aftermarket led head light. When I did mine, the Stedi 7" led round light has the option for the bezel surround DRL to be on with either low or high beam depending which terminal you pick. Just plug this into the corresponding terminal. I chose to have the drl on with low beam.

That's pretty interesting. Thanks Erik. I might take my shell back off and tape and seal it up better if it's got power to it all the time. It's just sitting there exposed to possible moisture.
There should not be power there all the time, only when ignition switch is in "park". I think Eric means the DRL could be used as a park light, but I don't think it is legal in Oz. Only need a back light down under as they generally park on the proper side of the road, if they don't the HP will give them a feckin nice fine.

Appreciate the clarification. Thanks.

You can easily modify the headlight to only have the DRL on during the day and then have the headlights come on when needed. It's how I have my lights wired.

Correct, no full time power, only when ignition is on. I simply plugged the line into the corresponding plug on the headlight to run the DRL with low beam. It switches off when i hit high beam and light is off when ign off.
Mine is powered with key on and also in park position. I drilled and fitted park globe. Reason why, came home one night, low beam had blown. Didnt realise as enough light from street lights etc. Scared me as realised id been invisible from front. Park light backup i like. LED globe lasted 2 weeks, normal globe been in for years.
